Does anyone know when the last time Ricky Ponting played a 4 and 1 day game for Tassie ?

I don't seem to recall him playing for them this year and even last year.
He's withdrawn from this weeks ING game, despite everyone else playing.

Crikey, that's a big gap between state games.

he lives in wollongong anyway - tassie should be thankful for any token appearance they get

fair enough he's pulled out this weekend though - he recovered in time for the summer from a broken thumb and hasn't had a rest sicne

How long before he joins NSW?

He's already got the Aussie captaincy,so why would he need too ? :D

How long before he joins NSW?
he said he'll never do that and he'll stick with tassie for good, if he joined NSW it'd just give more weight to the blue cap conspiracies - i don't think it'd be worth the bad press

i doubt he'd make any more of an effort to play state cricket for NSW anyway - if he's injured, if he needs a rest, he takes a rest. doesn't matter if its meaningless little tassie or moneybags star status NSW

I realise there is a difference as Tassie's is a must win game, but Martyn and Gilchrist arent playing for WA either. Its the players perogitive. Besides, Ponting is the only player not to be rested in the VB series.

In a similar vein, can anyone tell me when Matt Hayden last padded up for Queensland?

If Ponting is now a permanent resident in Sydney, I just wonder if he still qualifies to play for Tasmania. I don't know the entire rule, but I thought a player needed to be living in a state for the past number of months to qualify for that state. Or does that rule just pertain to qualification for a new state?

We are lucky our spot in the final is not reliant on us winning this match!

Ricky Pontings decision to "have a rest" is an absolute disgrace , he is the epitomy of arrogance these days .
the aussies only played 2 one day finals so why would he need the extra rest ? what did he actually do in the ing cup series that he needed a rest from ???
this is the side he is still captain of and has a chance to make the finals of the ing cup and he just can't be bothered playing.
Ponting has lost a lot of respect in my eyes and a lot of other cricket followers as well
ricky ponting you are as weak as ********

Which state you play for has nothing to do with where you live. It's not technically a state competition, it's more of a club competition with state names.
