In any American cop show, when something happens they just yell "Call 911". They never say "call 911, someone's been stabbed" or "call 911, there's a dead body here".
So the 911 call would be something like this:
911 Operator: What's your emergency?
Caller: I don't know. Some guy in the street just told me to call you.
The operators must be psychic because they always know whether to send police, fire or ambulance.
