Not the best photo.
Who updates that site ? Is it someone from West Coast or is it all done by Telstra ? Reckon we should do something like Essendon did for their site - http://essendonfc.com.au/main.asp

As for Daniel, he did well at the scratch match. I've heard he can kick off either boot and has good skills for a young chap.

On the club website, they tout D-Mac as a Possible Key-Position Prospect, although all of his praise is coming from his work in the midfield...
Does anyone actually know, or have any preferences as to where he should or is going to continue his career? As a Midfielder or as a Key Position player?
Sorry, i was just confused :)
By the way, what does IMO mean? I have always been meaning to ask that on either Big Footy or Eagles Flying High...

McConnell is the same height as Judd, Hunter and Embley so he could possibly end up playing a similar game to either of those players.
IMO means In My Opinion.

But at 17/18, he may still have a few more cm left in him- from memory, Judd was 187 when we drafted him and is 189/190 now.
I think/hope McConnell will end up a nice size for a key defender, or a versatile third tall in the Bradshaw mold- as with Staker, he's gotten games early on in more midfield oriented roles because he has genuine pace and agility to get by on whilst what will be a decent sized frame fills out.

Have to expect that from young kids. Chris Judd used to be accussed of the same thing... and McConnell is still only 18.
Im not sure if it was an optical illusion... but does McConnell seem to have a very awkward kicking style? I tell you what though.. he sure knows how to get the ball.... had it on a string and he is a pretty big boy for someone who plays midfield. 190cm. I remember seeing in his draft camp writeup that one of his biggest strengths was his marking above his head.... We didnt get to see that much last night but if thats true... it kind of makes him a scary proposition.

i think his greatest attribute is his endurance, very very good for any sort of player let alone a guy who is 190cm and 88kgs. i also thought his kicking style is alittle awkward, he seems to drop the ball from pretty high (or something like that).
think about this, butler, waters and mconnell will be start peaking and playing their best football in 2008

there sure isnt, i stream games off of afl.com.au, i use a stream capturer to download the full game onto the drive as a 700 meg file and watch them from there so i dont get the awful chop and lag of streaming from the other side of the planet

Saw Dan play impressively in the Wiz match and the player that came was James Hird.
I reckon this bloke will - in a year or two- be able to play virtually any position on the ground.
No wonder the eagles picked him up so young and have been prepared to bide their time with him.
'This skillful player...who is comfortable at either end of the ground, is quick, has good endurance and disposal skills for his size and is excellent overhead
'recorded one of the best times in the gruelling shuttle run at last year's national draft camp(2003).' (Some Hird attributes there to go with his similar physique).
Quotes from the AFL Season Preview POCKET GUIDE published in Feb 04.
We picked him up at 26 after snaring Waters at 11 and Butler at 20. The 2004 draft will prove to be a vntage year for the WCE's.
Getting excited - I am.
