Which Bulldog player provoked a fit of laughter from the Footscray table when he polled a vote in the 1988 Brownlow medal?

Zeno Tzatzaris!

Geez... imagine how badly Wayne Jackson could f*** up a name like that after calling out Tivendale as Gibben-Powell last year!

Sorry guys - not Libba or Zeno :( Keep trying.

Zeno must have been another year. 1988 did seem a bit early, and the laughter wasn't exactly a fit... more of a chuckle (albeit from the whole room).

Any clues as to why there was laughter? Was the player a complete dud, did he poll a vote despite playing an absolute shocker, or was it one of those Tzatzaris-type alphabet names?

Darky,

I think that the term 'dud' would not be out of place here!

Okey Dokey,

More clues needed. The player concerned played limited senior footy with Footscray in 1987-88, and played in the '88 Reserves premiership, starting on the bench!

Correct jboyar - it's one of them...

The naming of Brenton Vilcins among the Brownlow votes provoked the guffaws of his teammates. Well, he wasn't very good as I recall!

And LY, note the 3 ellipsis points :D
