......which is great.....but.......he is rumoured to be (behind Kouta) the second highest paid player at Carlton. If that's true, then I reckon Brett Ratten has every right to feel a little miffed!

Poor old Rats...dudded again...perhaps a place at Hawthorn beckons??? ;) You guys need a tall defender.
There is no doubting that fact that Ratten should be your highest payed player. For consistency and hardness at the contest, you can't go past Ratten.
Hope this doesn't offend, but i think Kouta doesn't truely deserve the money he is getting in place of Ratten, Campo and Braddles. If i were to rank Carlton's top 5, this is how it would read:
1. Brett Ratten
2. Scott Camporeale
3. Lance Whitnall
4. Anthony Koutafides
5. Simon Beaumont
Geez that was a hard thing to do. McKay, SOS and Braddles are followed close behind, but went with Beaumont who has had the better season.

I can't rank our team. I prefer to think that our top six are very even when you way up consistency versus matchwinning ability.
Ratten, Camporeale, Whitnall, Koutoufides, McKay, Silvagni
I know SOS is on the way out but he is a matchwinner up forward or down back. His form is sensational and his age has no bearing on his form.
Braddles almost fits into the category of SOS except he has struggled at times to live up to his deeds of the past. For this reason, I would rank him a notch below this Super Six.
Simon Beaumont would come in alongside Allan and Porter in terms of importance closely followed by Lappin and Hickmott.
Anyway, it's over to Campo to earn his money now. The next month would be a perfect time Scott!!!

i'm juts glad campo has re-signed and he's staying with us. i agree rats also deserves the money, i'm nopt sure when his contract runs out, but i'm sure when it does he'll be offered as much as carlton thinkhis worth, and he is worth alot, hopefully carlton knows taht.
when kouta was offered the money, he was definately worth it... his performance this year does not reflect that, but i did not expect it to. if he is ever as good as he was, it'll be next year and/or the year after, personally i don't think he ever will be, but he still will be a great asset to the team and definately worth keeping

I'm glad that Campo has re-signed though. He still has his best in front of him. Really think he could offer us something with his run on the wings. About to hit his prime.
