Young leg-spinner Cullen Bailey has been called-up for the Redbacks in their final Pura Cup match this season against Tasmania starting this Thursday in Adelaide.

Bailey replaces Darren Lehmann, who is to have surgery on his shoulder.

Great story it is. He's taken 44 wickets from 12 Adelaide A-Grade games this year, and has been close for a call-up for quite a while... though Dan Cullen has kept on performing consistently as the other main SA spinner.

Must be the first time in a very long time the Redbacks will be playing two spinners around the 20-21 year old range.

His action is also quite different from most leg spinners... looking very similar to the great Richie Benaud.

I'm not against playing 5 bowlers, but Borgas would be pretty ********ed if Deitz and Bailey both jumped ahead of him while he's been out of cricket to carry drinks.

If his action's anything like Richie's, then he must be a tall man who bowls with a fairly high arm action.

I agree, Nathan Thompson was way more productive for the Roos than Wells in 2005.
