********. I blame that damn animation dogga_style made ;)
Worst news i've heard since upgrading of Smith and Rehn's 3rd knee reconstruction. Hopefully as 5AA said it is not as bad as first appears and he'll be back before too long
Injuries against Melbourne
M. Stevens
S. Welsh
B. Burton
N. Bock
All possible key forwards :(

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooooooooooooooooooo
:(
Might be his ankle according to Wildy.
As 5AA go on it seems like our season may be buggered :(
We just simply cannot name a very strong side with the players who are avaliable to us now :(

Definately his ankle and should be right by round 1, just saw him with ice on his ankle on the news. Good news, hopefully he can stay fit.

Huddo reckons its an ankle injury to Stevo. If thats the case I am feeling a lot better now :)
I would rather he not be injured but I would take ankle over knee any day ;)

Ankle....knee...its all on the same leg!

The coaching staff will just have to implement contingency plan "x"...they should have one up there sleeve if theyre worth thier salt.
Now cattle is a different matter...

After our top 25 or so, some are more eligible to be called swine rather than cattle. My lips are sealed and you can't force me to say Smith. ;) :D
Seriously we just can't afford injuries. We have very little depth.

if it was his knee it would be career over, ankle will be max 4 wks. Not that bigger deal though, we should expect to have him as a bonus, shouldnt expect too much from him

it probably hard to tell during the game, but the 5aa injury reporting has something left to be desired.

Read the report on the AFL website. Quotes Craig saying Stevens should be right for round 1.

I gotta say that I was about ready to slit my wrists after listening to 5AA.
I was even considering a come-back to make sure they didn't play Smith!! :D
According to the website and Craig, they'll all be available for Round 1. That include Burton, who they claim only had cramp. I saw vision of that, and it certainly looked a strange one for cramp, so I hope that's right.
It certainly sounds a damn sight better than 5AA made it sound.

Totally right. KG has lost his nerve completely, and the call today would have you believe that the four players they spoke of injury wise had died!!! Quite bazaar. Only good part of the call was that Steven Rowe wasn't commentating.

Burton grabbed for his hammy but yeah when they had him on the sidelines they were stretching his leg in the air as if for cramp so yeah could be what it is.

Ankle had ice on his left ankle after the game.
Just been announced that he rolled his ankle so could be two to three so there's hope yet.
The way the ********ers sounded on 5AA it sounded like his playing days would be over.
WHew what a relief.

That does sound a lot more optimistic. I couldn't see them trying to stretch a torn hammy!!

Probably not too far off the mark either.
Welsh has a corky so he could be ok in a couple of weeks.

Yeah when he came off he has pulling back his toes, then they go him to lie on the grass and had his leg straight up in the air.

Thank God, Stevo is alright for round 1. I was getting pretty anxious there when I was reading the commentary in the other thread.

The hysterical call on 5AA (as per ********ing usual) almost made me crash my car!
After reality has set in, it seems that Stevo (albeit probably in a rush for time), Welsh & the Birdman will all be OK for round 1, thank god!
Can anyone please approximate the total brain cell count of Wildy, KG and McDermott?

nice post big fella.....
I got in my car after work yesterday and put the radio on thinking...hmmmm 2 goals up.......busy traffic......might as well sit back and enjoy the last qtr.........
I was that bloody ********ty by the time I got home I nearly put the car through the garage wall !!!!!
Those 3 ********ers on the radio have sealed 5AAs fate for me this year...I've had enough. If I had run over a pedestrian on the way home, I would have cited their mis-diagnosis on Stevo as a contributing factor to my temporary insanity, and there's not a judge in the land that would convict me of driving in a manner dangerous........ :p
Good to hear it's an ankle not a knee..........Burton's cramp / hammy..?? who knows.........Welshy should be right............Bock.....meh !
KG '' Goody delivers upfield to the forward lines Stevo lifts himself to take a mark omg hes crashedtothegrounfithinkhesdonehiskneeagain help me Wildes I cant breathe im shattered Adelaide are gone''
DW '' Yes doesnt look real good Ken ..for Mark Stevens or for Adelaide ..hes writhing in agony on the ground his teammates around him consoling him pain etched on his face along with the realisation his career is gone'' KG '' AWWWWWW dont say that Wildes Adelaide need him''
DW ''Yes your certainly right Ken it doesnt look good for Adelaide''
RE '' Right now the doctors are looking at getting him off the oval ..they are carrying him which seems to indicate hes in trouble''
KG ' But Russ hes done his knee the same knee as before hes gorn''
----------------------------------------------------
5 years and I can still hear the hysteria generated. For everyone concerned lets hope its a minor ankle injury .
But lets get positive ...3 months ago we thought Stevo wouldnt be on a list let alone on the ground. Our expectations need to be about putting 22 players on the ground each week. If we need to play more 1st year players then so be it. Embrace them and be positive in them. I for one would like to see VB and Meesen play round 1 as I think VB wont be too fazed by it as much as we think. He is working hard on and off the track and NC said he would reward that. Meesen is the next best big body..whether we play him off the bench or not. This probably better in another thread so I will leave it and hope to see Stevo on the ground by round 2

Yeah a couple of weeks break before Rnd 1 he will right, my only concern was he struggled to put weight on it, noticed that as he walked down the players race.

Thank GOD it wasn't a knee. The way 5AA carried on you would have thought his leg actually fell off. It was very distressing listening to them on the radio and not being able to see it for myself!!!
Hopefully the ankle will be right for round 1.

Always been a huge fan of Stevo's....
Everytime he got injured i was disappointed for him.
I'd like to see him finish his career having gotten a few more seasons of football out of his body.
Hope he gets fit again soon and can stay fit.
Best of Luck for the new season.
