Queensland have sealed a spot in the final by taking first innings points. (Their seventh in a row!)

If Western Australia win this match, they will host the final against Queensland at the WACA.

If Western Australia fail to win and New South Wales win outright, NSW will play Queensland at the Gabba in the final.

If both WA and NSW fail to win, the final will be between Queensland and WA at the Gabba.

One thing is certain. If the match is at the Gabba, the wicket will be a white top road that will last 8 days, not a greentop like they served up to the Redbacks a couple of weeks ago.

Do they use the quotient to see who hosts the final if they are tied or is it a matter of the head to head result for the year?

Head-to-head. They just use quotiont percentage throughout the year, then head-to-head for the final standings.

There's no head-to-head rule in Pura Cup.

It goes:

Points
Outright wins
Quotient

The reason why WA are currently ahead of NSW is because they have more outright wins.

Really? Hmmm... learn something new every day.

I was under the impression it went on head-to-head from some of the recent posts on BigFooty.

And that kind of makes sense with the head-to-head not being a rule, seeing most head-to-head records would be 1-1.

With NSW taking outright points at the SCG (or about to), it's down to two possibilities:

WA win - final becomes WA v Qld at the WACA.

WA draw/lose - final becomes Qld v NSW at the Gabba.

It's looking more and more like the latter as WA will have a very tough chase this afternnon.
