Saying in the week that he admitted he and his team have had one eye on the Ashes for a few months now.. He hasnt won this current series in New Zealand yet.. and I hope he doesn't start treating teams such as New Zealand with contempt.. As I speak New Zealand are 2/170, with Fleming and Marshall still in on good scores.. If a draw occurs this test.. or even worse if the unthinkable happens.. Australia won't look as dominant as they have been.. What are your thoughts on Ponting.. can you see my point?

4/180 with Fleming and Marshall out now. Bring on the Ashes.

When you have a team that is as strong as his, you can say anything you like. Noone expected New Zealand to show something out of nowhere, they have been very mediocre for 2 Tests, plus 5 one dayers, plus 2 Tests late last year.

NZ are akin to tour matches warming up for the real cricket.

I don't think there was anything unusual about that comment it's pretty obvious that the Aussies have been eyeing off the ashes for a while and NZ don't look like being a threat.

New Zealand aren't even playing to win in the third test, completely defensive. Very fair and realistic comment by Ponting.

Yeah fair enough too.. Im watching their run rate its something like 2.2 an over.. which is disgusting.. For McGrath to bowl 24 overs yesterday.. and having only 20 runs scored off him with 17 maidens... Ok, he currently number one bowler in the world.. but that to me is not positive Test Cricket from the New Zealand Test team..
I'll keep shutting up as long as they keep winning and/or playing every day to win result.. :)

Yep, and in the end their tactics haven't worked, out for under 300, they could find themselves behind very quickly and praying for rain.
