Keep your guessing games up mate. I'll give you a simple tip - don't believe figures that people throw around about this player and that player. You're putting 2 & 2 together and coming up with 1,300.

Rory Hilton was on a fair bit lower than his market value.

Justin Davies showed a fair bit at AFL level, there is a reason he was there for so long. I don't know the full run down of Davies' injury problems, but they have obviously cost him in the last couple of years, as there have been plenty of players getting a game at Carlton that (to me) didn't show as much as Davies.

They held him in pretty high regard, giving him the famous number 7 guernsey after a couple of years at the club.

I doubt it very much. With the depth of talent in this years draft, not to many recycled players got picked up and I think it will go that way again in the pre season draft. Unfortunately for Justin injuries have roobed him of a promising career at the elite level. Would be very handy if was to play for any GV side. Im sure many clubs are ringing him and trying to get him as well.

Dont need to explain yourself to such toss bags tige. Wouldnt bother about peanut brained people like tatybulldog and diamonddave. They are more then likely just a couple of boys who couldnt get a game in a team that only won 1 game.

Tatybulldog must be a good player/supporter of Tatura. He was saying how they might drop to the Kyabram league on their thread. So we know he couldnt care less about the club at Tatura if he sinking the boots in while the club is down. Must be only a fair weather supporter. Jumps ship when things get a bit tough.

Anyway, atleast the club has chased profile recruits that can win you games, not like the club 20 mins away.

you have to have a side around these high profile recruits that know how to kick a footy...ky will have a well balanced team for the coming season if thats who you were refering to. big recruits would improve the side, but the new culture the club is aiming at will be better for the club both on and off the ground. its a long term plan, not a quick fix. They won't have these money hungry dogs come to the club and rip them off because all they do is think of themself before the team and club.

SD, i'm no coach and i'm not worried about my position. is having 3 coaches not interesting?? ok, yes we have lost 2 quality players there, but we have also gained the services of chris atkins again, along with other quality players in the pipeline. i am just happy with the way the club is going. we are going to have a full 2s side with the same players playing each week which didn't happen this year along with all the overage 3rds staying round. this provides for competition for spots which is a healthy thing to have.

I'd argue Kyabram's best player is one of the joint coaches this year - Paul Newman. He is a matchwinner.

Have u heard that "directly" from one of these players or is it from another one of your sources - If u know some names you should pass them on to Tatybulldog at some stage.

Hard to believe they would want to move unless they are fringe players though as Mooroopna were very successful this year

sunbury have been one of the powerhouse teams of the BFL for a while now. Having the credentials of playing in such a good side which has won a 2-3 premierships in the last 5-6 yrs and representing a league which isn't far off GVFL shows that the guy has talent.

Didn't follow the Ballarat League all that closely this year but I did for the previous four or five seasons when Sunbury were on fire and Little was one of the top handful of big men in the comp. Was Sunbury's best ruckman, but they had a couple of other big blokes and because Little was more than capable of holding down centre half forward that is where he spent a lot of his time.
Is more than capable of holding down the ruck at a GVFL club but he ain't gunna be the answer to Tat's problems.
There was also talk of Tat picking up a FF from Sunbury? If the FF in question is Matthew Baird then the Bulldogs have done all right, but they'd still need to pick up a few others to even be a remote finals prospect.

Definite outs are Pilling, Gordon & Joey. You could class Luke Jackson and Patty Rattray as ins seeing as they didnt play in 2006. Can't really help you with too much else at this stage as training only started last night and I wasnt able to make it.

Tim Little will be one of the better rucks in the league for sure, his brother is Matt who is at Hawthorn and is cousins with James Hird.

Would have been the BFL premiere ruckman for the last 4 or 5 seasons, is a massive unit, great bloke as well.

Baird wont be at Tat, pretty sure his at Pacco with about 5 or 6 former premiership players from Sunbury.

They say a week is a long time in football and in the case of Seymour premiership coach Steve Daniel it has brought about a windfall of opportunity after landing a plum job with AFL Cairns.

Daniel will coach South Cairns Football Club next season and take on a football development role with the AFL outpost towards the end of next year.

The lightning-fast move comes within a week of Daniel signing on as coach of the Goulburn Valley Football League's interleague side for next year.

"They called me on Thursday, flew me up there on Saturday and we agreed to terms last night (Monday)," Daniel said.

As part of the lucrative deal - considered as a stepping stone to further AFL coaching opportunities - Daniel said it was likely he would also coach AFL Cairns' representative side before moving into the full-time development gig.

"The role comes available at the end of 2007 and I'll be working with kids in schools and promoting the game to indigenous kids," he said.

"I've always wanted to be involved in football full-time so I'd be silly to knock it back."

But while excited by the role, Daniel said he was disappointed he would not be able to fulfil his GVFL commitment.

"I've been in contact with Eric Bott and he gave me his full support," Daniel said.

Queensland is fast becoming a growth corridor for AFL talent with a record 11 players being selected in Saturday's National Draft.

"There is only seven teams in the competition," Daniel said.

"The standard is more like the Murray Football League, but all the grounds are equivalent to the VFL.

"So what they've done to get their leagues up is get quality coaches up there."

South Cairns president Jeff Lyon said he had known of Daniel by reputation for 15 years and had several discussions with AFL Cairns chief executive officer and former Violet Town coach Bernie O'Halloran about drawing a coach the calibre of Daniel to the club.

"I'm fully aware of his coaching exploits," Lyon said.

"We needed a very high-profile coach with a good record so we are ecstatic to secure his services."

Nice to see that good things have come the way of S.J. after all the hard work he has put in at Seymour and for the G.V. Having talked to him on a number of occassions it was always something that came into the conversation and I would like to wish him luck and success in his new posting. Damn hard ask to pack up everything and go, (I know I could not do it), so more power to you big fella.:) :thumbsu:

His brother is definately the talent of the family. Nathan is as hard a player as you find but his decision making and kicking lets him down a bit. Out in the PDFL he will be one of the premier players i would think. Good opportunity for him but expect him to be back in the gvfl in a couple of years

So Whippet when are you gunna let the football world know of your future. Will we see the famous mullet and long sleeve in 2007? The faithful are hanging on the edge of their seats waiting in hope of squeezing another season out those aging legs. Please stay!
Well whippet purchased brand new boots on the eve on this years grand final only to be left out of the losing grand final team. So by this indication, Im sure old whippet will be going around yet again for the maggies. Will need from all reports, not to many numbers on the training track.

Oh before I go whilst I know we get bugger all outa Mansfield, my source tells me that former Hawthorn and more recently Williamstown duo Rayden Tallis and Bradley Lloyd are being targetted heavily by Tossol's men.

Now I want this confirmed, denied or at least in the Shepp News "Have you heard" column Kingy whilst Im on leave :D
All the talk on EDFL thread is how Brad Lloyd will be playing in there league next year.

As far as I know Trent will be playing again, but i think Cam might be calling it quits .. he's body is really starting to struggle.

I'm sure if he doesn't play the bar sales are sure to remain quite high

heard around the traps that Daniel already has got in contact with some gvfl players, heard Sharp from benalla was on his list, would this come from the influence of O'hallaren?

His pretty handy when things are going his way, but he will soon stop playing good footy if he doesnt like what the coach is trying to put into place on the field. He also cracks it very easily if the coach has a dig at him for not doing the simple things on the field. But none the less he will be very handy for Benalla.

That league pays more than any other going around I reckon! Not uncommon for teams to be paying a couple of blokes over a thousand a game:eek:

More money than sense this league.. Are kidding themselves if they think anyone is worth this much to play footy.

As much as I rate Sam Dawes, I dont think he is $1K + player.

If the money is on offer and your the one they want then go for it. If your going to another league with a hope of one day returning to your club it's good for footy(or even if your not). If it's another club in your league, then as a team mate i'd be questioning your commitment to your club and your team mates in the first place.
