View Full Version : Bye bye Vards

Rumour on radio this morning said Sydney's after Vardy and it's almost a done deal.

Who do we want in return?

I'd want Ryan Fitzgerald and Nic Fosdike/Jared Crouch. We need more than just Fitzgerald I think.

Fizgerald plus Heath James or Fosdike and we can off load Ricky O to them as well to sweeten the deal.

Maybe do a three way swap to get Pavlich and send a few Syndey boys to Freo (eg Cresewell).

you can have Fitzgerald (injury prone) and Fosdyke (also injury prone - and lacks pace)

...but no way are you getting Crouch, he's way too good to let go.

Vardy and Ricky O will do very nicely thanks very much.

and as for Cresswell ? - well thats one of the more silly rumours I have heard.

There is no need for Cressa to look for a nest-egg at Fremantle. He is already personally a very rich man.

He will be at the Swans for at least another two years, then after that don't be surprised to see him back at his old club North Hobart in Tasmania.

cheers

Mmmm.

Vardy, O'Loughlin, mid-low draft pick ---> Sydney
Stafford, Cresswell ---> Fremantle
Pavlich, high draft pick ---> Adelaide

Hey BSA,

If the price was right, would Ben Matthews be on your tradeable list ? From what i've seen he's been impressive - How highly do you rate him having seen him every week?

And what would be a good swap from us for Stafford - I saw the thread on your forum.... surely you couldn't delist a 'name' like that and get nothing in return? I think you'll be suprised as to how much you actually get for him come trade time.

Crows supporters,

Marsh or Biglands -- what chance they'll be traded next year, and what would be a fair trade with the dogs? Try to be realistic ;) (especially you, Prideof - effectively Vardy/Oloughlin for Cresswell/Stafford - ROFL)

I don't think the Swans would trade Ben Matthews.

I think he is viewed as being part of the future of the club.
He is highly regarded in Sydney, and is consistantly part of Sydneys 'best'.

He is thought of as a future leader of the club, and I dont think any trade will be done with him.
After all, he is ONLY 22, so the Swans will not trade young Matthews, under no circumstances (I think you have more chance of getting Crouch)...

Stafford CAN be a quality player, but has failed time and time again... He has shown in the past that he has the ability to be one of the best ruckman in the competition, but too often he goes missing, and .. have you seen him playing recently?

He can't take a mark, on his form now, I would be better value to the team, as at least I can take the marks he continually drops.

He should be traded at the end of the year, and if it is to you, I would hope that he would perform better for you, than he has for us this year.

What are you guys looking for exactly?
We need a tallish key forward. I think that would nearly do it.
Thats what we are missing!
:)

We will swap Fizgerald for Marsh no problem

How does that sound?

We are keeping Biglands though.

Look for Ben Marsh to be in a Power guernsey next year with Bowen Lockwood in the gold red and blue hoops

you might NEED more than Fitzgerald...but whether you will get more is another thing.
Id say Fitzgerald and 3rd Round draft pick for Vardy and Ricky O. (PLEASE throw in Ricky for the deal so he cant play for the magpies anymore)

Damn .... i was looking at us snaring both of them! ;) Seriously, what would ya consider a fair trade from the dogs for Lockwood, Macca? I know it would cost us bigtime .. but is Lade a possibility to be traded?

TheMase,

Thanks for that - I thought it was a little funny that more of the Swans supporters weren't rating Ben higher. And yeah, I've seen how bad Stafford's form has been in a couple of games this year.... but to the point of delisting him? That's suprised me. We need a ruckman and key defender urgently. Don't know if we can afford to take a punt on Stafford -- but Wallace might have a go come trading time.

No spare key forwards in the Western Suburbs of Melbourne btw .... unless you're interested in Trent Bartlett? .... kidding ... i wouldn't put even my worst enemy through that kind of pain! :D

Crows458,

I'm a Bulldogs supporter mate.... therefore I have no problem with you receiving Fitzgerald and us getting Marsh for nothing.... don't know how Sydney will like that deal though. :p

Any doggies players you're interested in? Draft picks?

** And sorry about taking over your Adelaide board with this trading stuff -- our year's finished .. gotta do something.

agree 100 % with the Mase on Ben Matthews

very underrated (as are all swans players really) has stepped up this year, especially since we .lost Rowan Warfe with a shoulder injurty for the season.

Good at hard ball gets, and provides real drive off the halfback flank. Disposal is above average.

WE don't want to let him go. At 22 he represents the future of the Red and Whites.

I will stand corrected on Stafford if somebody wants to pick the guy up - good luck to them and good luck to Stafford, he certainly seems to be needing a change of scenery !

... but I am getting ahead of myself here - Stafford is on notice to perform in the finals, or else. So we might well see a very different Stafford during September.

cheers

.

Lade is untouchable.

for Lockwood? How about Simon Cox and 3rd round draft pick?

What about these trade rumours???

Mark Harwood for Brian Beinke.
=> Could be a win/win swap.

Daniell Schell 21yrs, 191cm forward & from SA for Tyson
Stenglein or Ben Marsh or Nathan Bassett or Ian Perrie.
=> Not worth it my opinion as Schell is about as coordinated as Kenny McGregor!

Clint Bizzell for Andrew Eccles.
=>Worthy of consideration.

Brent Tuckey for Andrew Eccles
=>No way!

Scott Lucas or Sean Wellman for Ken McGregor and Peter
Vardy
=> When can we sign - we will throw in D Gallgher &/or Byrne
as well! Would have thought Essendon would want a
ruckman like Marsh.

S.Lucas & J.Robran for Biglands & Welsh & Vardy.
=>Interesting - we could do with a couple of key position players, but is it worth giving up 3 handy players?

Kingsley Hunter for Ken McGregor.
=> Don't care as I don't think either can play!

Yep, like Clownsborough and Bode.

Admittedly both clubs got shafted on the Clownsborough deal.

Forgot about downsborough, what a dud.
Bode is yet to get his chance.
How about you have Adam Richardson and we'll have

Bode is still very young though I think I would prefer Kane Cornes

Lockwood ... no thanks. My mail is that Geelong want him pretty badly and he'll end up there.

Marsh ... yours for a slab of Coke. But wait there's more!!! We'll thrown in a genuine, mint condition David Gallagher!!!!!

Beinke <==> Harwood. No thanks. It would mean we'd have to find a new SANFL club for him every few weeks. That takes a lot of organisation.

Bizzell for Eccles. Hmmm. Definitely worth a look.

Geelong would be stupid enough to trade Bizzell for Eccles. I cnat see why they would do it, but they would. Bizzell id 5x the player Eccles is. Bizzell is one of their star players. Eccles has played about 7 games the last 2 years thru constant injuries.
It would go down as a massive trade blunder on geelongs account - but then again i w ouldnt put it past them.
