Boys boys boys dont count your chickens to early either Hawthorn or Richmond would have beaten there fair share of sides on Sunday it was a terrific spectacle and a great standard of footy. However in saying that i think that you blokes will beat my mob, there is just a touch of class that Essendon have that Hawthorn dont. You blokes have Hird we have Crawford you have JJ we have Mitchel you have Lloyd we have Holland , game over.
Essendon by 18 points, but if you so happen to lose look out for a almighty bashing from the media, theres alot more to lose from a Essendon point of view than Hawthorn one.

I am expecting the worst game in the history of our club sunday. I might print up a T-Shirt saying I was there for the full 4 quarters.
No team has bragging rights winning this one. It would be safer for both just not to show up.

I can see us losing it. Then somehow beating some team like St Kilda or Geelong and the moronic element of fans saying stuff like 'We're back on track!'.
We're finished. And with neither either scum coll or carl (who may finish 8th at best and get smashed first week) to make the finals either, I'm looking forward to a relaxing september going to games as a nuetral and getting loaded in the royal then the bullring.

Any players likely to be dropped from last week?
I think you could do far worse than giving Paul Thomas a game, he will give you an honest contest every time and plenty of drive from the backline and through the midfield. Assuming Thomas is fit to play and whatnot.
Thomas is up at the VFL tribunal tonight on a rough play charge.

I think Bombers by 10 goals to put Essendon inside the 8.
It will however be the only time you'll be in the eight all year.
Lloyd to kick 5, Lucas 3 from CHB, Hird either worst or BOG.
The 2nd time around later in the year will be the good contest.
Remember the names Roughead and Lewis cause today they debut against the Bombers and for years they will be great players... today I hope they get a kick!

I was there today too. Thought we were absoloutly gone at 3/4 time.
Some positives if any :
* Kepler Bradley (again)
* Lloyd needed the hitout
* even at our peak, we could never play in the wet.
* we won our Rd 3 game last year by less than a goal against WCE after losing our first 2 games. Hopefully we will follow last years pattern.
Next week will show where we are at. If Geelong belt us then we are a genuine 10-14 side. If we can win, it may turn our season around.

Well, I was busy today. I got back to see the last few minutes of the 3rd quarter and the whole last quarter on channel 9. It didn't look good, Kepler Bradley is becoming a great player, Lloyd didn't seem to do much, was okay in the last qtr. Very lucky in the end, a disappointing performance from what I saw of the game. I can't comment to much considering I didn't watch the full 4 qtrs. Solomon's goal, meh! =/ We'll take the 4 points! :)
Well I saw all 4 quarters and would be amazed if we finished 11th.

that was a shocking game in terms of the standard of footy. but it was pretty exciting. that was the battle for the spoon right there.

Looked like a battle for the wooden spoon. I know we can be better than that. You will be better than that in the future.
Franklin, Roughead and Lewis will be very good players, though.
