Has Anybody spoetted the new Sri Lankan Chucker surrently playing for his country against NZ in NZ?
His name is Malinga and hes a slinger, with a round arm action. The Kiwis have even complained to the umpires to remove thier black pants and ties, the sling is that bad....
Anybody else got any views....

Yeah, I have a view and the fact that it's idiots like yourself who say someone is a chucker when a bowler has a non conventional action.
Malinga gave us a scare during the last series played in the Top End and he is far from a chucker.
Couldn't you say Tait is a chucker as well as he has a sling action as well ?
Hear hear.
He is not a chucker as far as I've seen and people should be careful before they jump onto the chucker bandwagon. There's an amazing amount of room on it, but you'll be with dodgy company.
Malingas arm is as straight as any bowler. How can you bowl with a bent arm with a round arm acation. You ****************

He's not a chucker, although he does have an amazing action. Every ball I saw was right up in the block hole.

I can't actually believe this was raised in a thread. How the hell is he a chucker? His arm isn't even bent!!! That alone makes him a non-chucker.
Some people these days.
He's a pretty good prospect, and far from a chucker.
Lankans have a few good young quicks coming through, Malinga, Kulasekera, Zoysa and Maharoof.
I think I know the bloke you're talking about - I watched him for the first time on Austar the other day.
Very unusual style, and I must admit, I did have to do a double-take looking at his action when I first saw it.
But I watched a few more overs, taped it, and did the freeze frame on it - no problems with it.
The Kiwis have even complained to the umpires to remove thier black pants
I watched the test and thankfully Steve Bucknor and Darrell Hair kept their pants on.

How is it that it took this long for a batsman to ask the ump to remove his tie ?
Why the hell do they where a tie ?
Maslinga has been around for a while, yet only now it's been raised.Replays showed it was a sensible move from the Kiwi batter [James Marshall,I think ].
It was funny seeing Steve Bucknor wearing a jumper around the front of his waist.Maybe he could've gone and got one of the tea ladies aprons. :D

A little erratic in line with his slinging action but in general a good bowler. Far from a chucker.

Ugly action, but he's not a chucker. He'll definately go down with back injuries if he doesn't modify his bowling action though. Very talented youngster on all accounts.

26 is fairly young in cricket.

yeah very true, don't forget Afridi is just 24, but he's been playing for close to a decade. Sarwan is the same age.
Anyway, I thought everyone had a look at Malinga back in the Top End series in July. Interesting action, but not a chucker.

I had no idea slinger and chucker mean the same.
If this guy chucks we might as well go baseball rules.
Malinga's arm is straighter than Lee, whose action is fine too, and a hell of a lot straighter than the world series pitcher England had playing for them recently called James Kirtley, whose action was not fine, nobody made a fuss of him (Well Greg Mathews did).
It seems anything a little different gets you into trouble.
If he does not get it spot on with that round arm stuff though his line could really go though and the runs could fly.

Bowlers with the slinging type actions are the least likely to chuck.
