That had to be our best performance of the year. I know the critics will say that the Crows were terrible but they only played as well as the Blues let them.
Kouta was awesome. Plunkett fantastic. Bradley, Mansfield, Lappin, Prendergast, McKay, Fletcher, the lot of them, simply brilliant.
Trying to keep a lid on the excitement but I don't see how that team can lose to Richmond next week. Then I might be seeing the boys up here in Brisbane in a fortnight.
This competition isn't over yet, not by a long shot!
Plunkett - what a gun!!
Hopefully everything will go to plan and the Blues will beat Richmond next week, and then it's Brissy in the Preliminary. I think that both Carlton and Richmond fans would agree that it would have been handier if Port had won tonight, as meeting Richmond at the GABBA in a Prelim is not the way most people would want to get into the Grand Final :(
Either way, great win today Blues... I thought that it would be much closer, but I'm sooooo happy at the result :)
PS. Don't worry QT ;);) :D:D
Yep, just thought I'd pop in and say congratulations to the Blues, extremely well played by the professional outfit that you are. A complete team performance, your pressure was outstanding, your skills were superb, simply too good against very poor opposition. I know you only play as well as the other team lets you but dropped marks and missed targets under no pressure doesn't have much to do with the other side. Having said that maybe it was the perceived pressure your boys put on us...... errrr, I don't know lol :( :)
Anyway, I reckon I'll go drown my sorrows now, something to take my mind off footy, I think Gone with the Wind is on Fox Classics....... :)
Well played once again and good luck for the rest of the finals.

good win against the 8th best team having an extremely off day.
That said, I think you might upset the tigers and at least give the Lions a good workout.
Personally I'd much prefer meeting Carlton in the GF than Brisbane (provided we can get there too).

Careful Dutchman, almost bordering on being insulting to the Blues who really did lift and didn't allow the Crows to find any momentum at all. Remember we have the best defense in the comp and provided we have a few targets up forward, the opposition are going to find it hard if we are on song.
Still, I did mention the critics suggesting otherwise and the Blues still have all the hard work to do, so I won't get ahead of myself. We do have the talent, consistency has been our problem. Let's just sit back and watch it unfold .... ;)
Woe is me:(
Wow are the Blues:eek:
Another season down the tubes.
All the best Blues....yas were too good on our worst day of the year:mad:

Don't want to rub it in to the good sports from Adelaide who have posted here, but I didn't think they were that bad.
I thought Carlton gave almost as many turnovers and handling errors as Adelaide.
The differences between the teams were:
1. Carlton were hungrier and better at the bottom of packs.
2. Adelaide's forward line didn't function.
Well done Blues. Dutchman, a hard judgment to make from London?

Ok, ok, ok maybe I'm getting carried away but to all those Bulldogs supporters out there, the fact you gave him away and kept old hacks like Romero shows why you are broke, have an overrated coach, and won only 1 premiership!
Jimmy old boy you are a gun!!;)

Still get to follow games via the net and web radio FatRed and I do get quite a few tapes and replay feeds - if you check you(rep'll find I'm rarely outta touch with whats happnin in the ol Footy.
End of the day (AND ODNB you KNOW I was just stirring the pot AND would LOVE to see a Blues v Dons GF) so far this year Carlton has won 14 H&A matches which I'm afraid is not enough to deserve a double chance and have only beat (albeit comfortably beat) the 8th (repeat 8th) best team going around at the MCG (ie: not in Adelaide).
That said you can only beat who's in front of you and it was a top performance from young Plunckett.
Cheers
Dutchy
PS. Apologies for the initial reply - thought this was on the main board (entered via front page) - otherwise would not have been so disrespectful given this is a blues board (2nd email only answered Reds Question)...

Fair enough Dutchman, I acknowledge that you are in touch. But Adelaide weren't that bad, just coulnd't get the ball, and unless you'd seen the game you wouldn't have known that.

fair call Red/ ODNB
But I didn't actually say the Crows were crap - just 8th best playign away from home. And jeez, a 68 point win or so without Ratts is a great win.
