Essendon v. Richmond
Friday, September 07
MCG 7:45 PM
Bombers fans, talk about the match here:
http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=14
Tigers fans, talk about the match here:
http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=16
Essendon 4.5 8.5 12.8 17.11 113
Richmond 1.4 2.7 4.10 5.13 43
Essendon wiped the field with Richmond on Friday night. As I
predicted.
Conditions were good, Essendon were on the ball. The Tigers were
more like nervous kittens, scoring just 5.13 43. This is the
lowest finals score since their most recent finals appearance in
1995.
Lloyd may get a head butting charge, and also kicked his second
consecutive ton. This may be it for him this year with a third
appearance in front of the tribunal. He's sweating it out as we
speak.
Essendon now get a week's rest, ready for the Preliminary Finals.

Carlton v. Adelaide
MCG 2:30 PM
Saturday, September 08
Blues fans, talk about the match here:
http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=25
Crows fans, talk about the match here:
http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=15
Carlton 5.4 10.8 12.12 17.16 118
Adelaide 1.6 3.6 5.10 6.14 50
Kouta and Lappin shone in this match, and their team did not let
them down. They trounced Adelaide in front 54,000 odd fans.
Adelaide were outplayed in every aspect of the game. Their
midfield collapsed, but the Crows came back after half-time with
some rough tactics. Tactics that the Blues shrugged off with
ease.
The Tigers will have their work cut out for them next week.

Brisbane v. Port Adelaide
Gabba 7:45 PM
Saturday, September 08
Lions fans, talk about the match here:
http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=18
Port fans, talk about the match here:
http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=28
Brisbane 1.6 3.9 8.14 12.16 88
Port Adelaide 2.0 7.1 8.3 8.8 56
The rain didn't deter the Lions from their 14th win on the trot.
A Brisbane victory was in doubt up until the third quarter as
Port's accuracy paid off.
After half-time, however, Port's forwards were nowhere to be
seen. Eight unanswered goals later, Port were sunk.
Lapin, Voss, Ackermanis, Scott, Brown and Black were the best for
Brisbane, while for Port Montgomery, Stevens, Primus, Burgoyne
and Carr were good, but couldn't cut the mustard.

Hawthorn v. Sydney
Colonial Stadium 2:30 PM
Sunday, September 09
Hawks fans, talk about the match here:
http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=19
Swans fans, talk about the match here:
http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=29
Hawthorn 1.0 5.4 11.9 19.15 129
Sydney 4.1 6.3 7.5 11.8 74
Like Paul Hogan's eyelids, the Colonial surface had obviously
'had work done' to it.
Colonial Stadium, the white elephant of Victoria, was packed to
the rafters (*sarcasm*) with a pitiful 33,000 odd people in
attendance.
Sydney was plagued with injuries, McPherson and Nicks before the
match, and O'Keefe, Kelly, Cresswell and Williams during.
The Hawks rallied and shot to the lead in the third quarter.
Daniel Chick battered Andrew Dunkley's right elbow with his head,
but amazingly it was Dunkley who was reported. How unfair!
