On form, I think Notting is very lucky to survive at the expense of Whitey.

DJ hasn't been that bad , has he?

The FF line(as named) looks pretty inexperienced, but having said that it's good to see some faith shown in the kids.

I haved mixed feelings about this collection of players................but bugger it.

GO LIONS!!

The only way I would keep Notting in the side is to play him out the goal square with Bradshaw and get him to use his agility to take overhead marks.

I think Whites career is very near its end with his omission. Personally I wouldve kept Selwood in and started him on the ball allowing Power to go up onto the half forward flank. I like the idea of Lappin running off a half back flank.
I wouldve put keating in the ruck and used Charman as CHF with Power and corrie at his feet. I wouldve had both Bradshaw and Notting playing out of the goalsquare. Adcock wouldve been the small forward at there feet possibly interchanging with sherman or mcgrath.
I wouldve started Copeland on the interchange and put him on into the middle when Black/Selwood came for a breather. I would put Voss forward when hes in need of a rest pushing McGrath to half forward allowing Power to go in when Voss is resting.

I personally think the forward line i had in mind for this game (listed below) looked better on paper than the one we have listed.

hf: Corrie Charman Power
ff: Adcock Bradshaw Notting

Finally i would use the quickest player in our side to run with Judd.

I hope we win but im doubting us. We really dont have a forward line, Pike is not the answer at CHF.

Yep ur right, im surprised he is still in the team!. His and White's careers are enarly over.

Notting & McGrath both have to play in that we need some leg speed, the one key area where the Eagles chop us up. In fact I would tag Judd with Notting in that he is doing SFA, & will have the pace to keep up. Stamina would be the real concern though.

I would love to see Spaander get a game, but I think Lethal will go with the experienced guys on the bench in that we still have a fair bit of youth on the ground. We really need some else to take a grab up forward.

Not confident at all but I do love it when we egt written off, continually suprise, lets hope they can do it again.

GO LIONS!!

I would play Leppa in the forward line. We need more goal kickers to win.

get on top in the midfield and you've on the game...

but can your midfield take west coasts?? voss's best is behind him, Black missed a few games.. should be interesting, but if you can break even you will win.

I think Brisbane's backline will thwart the lacklustre forward line of West Coast, midfield will be fairly evenly matched, Brisbane forward line looking nearly as bad as the Dogs, you'd be pretty keen to get Brown back I'd imagine.

The ongoing problem is the tall defender since DJ's decline. Last two weeks I've seen C. Scott matching up Goodes and Everitt which is just suicide. Any coach worth his salt will have looked at the 2004 GF and seen how to beat us ( note that Hardwick is with Hawthorn ) - 3 tall forwards to create panic, quick guys on CJ who plays off his man and .. suck us in. We're falling for it way too much and it's frankly embarrasing. It's inevitable after our incredible success but you can't get traction when the air's out of the tyres.

Brennan + Brown back = Brennan or Bradshaw in defence.

At a pinch, play Spaandermann or Merrett or Keating forward to free up Braddy.

Your forward line looks a bit weak without Brown and Lynch in there :)

Succinct but very accurate. Sum's up the 2005 lions to me. I would see Brennan in defence first choice as Brown and Braddy have great potential. Who else do we have that can be the third tall in defence? anyone in the ressies?

Spaanda has been given a run at CHB in recent weeks with indifferent results. There's Josh Drummond and Marty Pask, but both are on the rookie list. Pat Garner is there and CHB is his possie, but he's had shin problems so far this year that he's only just getting over. Plus he's farily slight and needs a bit more muscle on him.

God help us if Mal or Leppa go down.

So Garner is the long term replacement, mmm hope he works out. Seems we're pretty weak depth wise, thanks for the feedback.

Is this group going to snag a winning score ? Is Dylan the 3rd tall defender we desperately need ?

Dylan will take a Gardiner or Seaby, who is not as mobile as many tall forwards. he was recruited as a key position play but seems to have lost some mobility over the last 2-3 years.

Aker will need to kick 2-3, and Voss will have to snare a couple and if Chick is on him, then someone like Pikey has to take it upon himself to put himself into the game kick a goal or two and make Chick his man to hit hard with some big tackles.

How often do you see them line up as named?

More likely to be: Corrie, Pike, Voss; McGrath, Bradshaw, Keating.
