Against who? Who else played well? Scores etc.

Tarrant kicked 6, and took some very strong marks against an undermanned St Kevins backline. Was way to strong all day. Xavier ended up winning by bout 15 goals, but were full strength on the day. Skevs can only hope the 4-5 on the sidelines can add something in rd 10 which im sure will be a closer affair. Darvell was also very good for xavier, whilst Durham for St Kevins fought well all day.
What are the other results from today's prackys?

Melbourne Grammar 2nd's: 11. 7. 73.
Scotch 2nd's: 4. 7. 35
- In the 1st XVIII game, Melbourne Grammar won by two points.
Yeah, fair blow-out in the 2nds game. Grammar were too strong there.
In the 1sts, Grammar were too strong again and probably should of won by more. Tom Hawkins is a big boy and i assume will be taken under the father son. Grammar's midfield also too strong. Overall Hawkins and Vance were standouts.
For Scotch, Vice-Captain Davis was the best, with the Aboriginal boys, Rioli and Djukurra playing in bursts. Jacobs at full-forward tried hard all day and finished with 4. Good effort.
Both teams will have massive improvements, in terms of personnel and skill.

Did the big fella Michael Robinson play for Xavier (not 100% sure if he is at Xavier, may be somewhere else)?
Heard big things from this guy - good skills and similar to Pavlich my mate said, anybody seen this guy on the park?

Yeah, the big fella played. Ok, nothing special, looked slow but took some big grabs and split a few packs, looks the goods.

Well i go to xavier and I've seen Tarrant play a few games against St Pats College and St Kevins, and usually see him train most days as I train on the same days. Well he is big for his age and from what ive seen is a good leading mark as well as pack mark. He also uses his size well, crashing packs and applying some huge hip and shoulders. His kicking isn't to bad as well, however at the moment I wouldn't consider him the best in our team, but this is probably due to the fact that he is only in year 11. It should be interesting to see how he develops and the see if he will get drafted.

Well described Prince. Yous that want him at the pies now would be good. The tarrants out of the square and the pies kick 3 goals for the game both of them get 4 kicks combined and Collingwood can't slide much further.
Stop talking up players that don't produce.

Does 1 or 2 goals really deserve a 'pat on the back'?? (isnt he meant to be good??) - look at the other fowards in the comp: Hawkins (Melb) kicked 5 vs Brighton, Rioli (Scotch) supposedly kicked a massive 10 (just to name a few). The benchmark in the APS is a lot higher than 2 goals. ;)

is their much difference between melborne grammar 2nds and their firsts, because when we came over and played the 2nds they were a bit of a joke.

From what i've heard although he is in yr 11 he is only u/16 age group, which is year 10. Huge for his age.
He'll make it.
Rioli kicked 10 in a game? Is this the kid in yr 10? thats a fair effort. Sounds to be bloody good.

Yes I agree, selectors see not only the height, body type, genetics, fast twitch & slow twitch fibres but the smallest of skill demostrated that can be built on. He has only been at a Private School for I think this year only, he was from a country area, so he has already started taking opportunities. Just like the Ablett kids they are always going be getting compared to and people always trying to knock them down, genetics is a huge factor. Thats why they have father-son rule but don't have brother-brother rule.imagine

Yes I know what you are saying because those competitions give scouts a great opportunity to view the best at the best level but they can't & don't just go by that. Mainly because they are only 14 yrs old, he is now 16yrs old and will be 17 at draft time. Huge time frame to develop & increase in body size & improve skill level. I have often watched TAC comp & alot of time 1st years players don't really show a lot of potenital but in their second year they really get it together. But a good scout/coach will do a deeper analysis of a young player. I guess we will just have to wait & see.

I checked into your statement and you are not correct. He did get a kick and played extremely well. best in fact... you have not got the right player. From what I was informed a couple of AFL clubs were very impressed by his performance.
