I think that he looked awesome on Saturday night. He is a great Defender who can run all day. All of this talk about the other new guys is deserved, but lets not forget he has only played about 15 odd games. In my opinion, he is a 200 + gamer. He does so many things well and is a bit of a hard prick.

Needs to work on his disposal, especially by foot. But has a go and possesses excellent endurance.

The mark he took on the wing in the 3rd quater was a momentum changer. Very good player.

I'm with Maazo. Good althlete and good potential, but if you look at when he JB smacked Chris Grant last year, it was frustration at a terrible JMac kick that just had to make it over Grant's head for a certain goal -- missed by 15-20 feet. It's his biggest achilles at this point. I'd give him strict 'run-with' roles for now.

Still, Ben Johnson had to be easily the Pies worst kick two years ago, but seems to have gradually got better -- he's still not stunning with a footy, but doesn't automatically turn it over now. There's still hope for Jmac.

you are joking ! sorry this boy isnt worth talking about ! his disposal and lack of chase makes him a seconds player at best !! dont rate him one bit !

bit harsh dont ya think? hes had a bad coupla games, but against st kilda he was great, and hes starting to get back into form...just like most of the others! yeh, fair enough his disposal is a bit of a worry, but with a bit of work, hell be great

I think he may just be one of those players who does not look like he is going 100%, but is really going flat out.

Although his disposal needs work, I like the way he plays. One this is for sure, and that is he owns James Hird.

Had an absolute shocker last night.

Robert Murphy schooled him ALL night..

Like most of the Lions at the moment, he is always a yard or two behind his opponent.. Bring back Corrie!!!

As far as I an concerned, the jury is still out on Macca (well mine is anyway)

But I gotta say, I agree that Corrie should be in the side.

He's got pace as well as endurance and IMO has a higher skill level than Mac at present.

Luthor, I agree with that. However, the whisper is Corrie is going to have to do something special over a few weeks to jump up in selection terms.

Corrie is not one to get the hard ball, pulls up.....footsteps.

But then again, Power is doing the same thing at the moment.

Woooooohhhhh! - Controversy!!!!

Agree about Corrie and maybe Joel, but Lukey? If this is right, there is trouble coming and a long 2005 season on the way.

But you need all kinds of players in the team. You don't want too many squibbs but we lack pace and need Corrie.

Agree.

It would be ridiculous if ALL the players in the side were in and under hard ball - getters because you would have no outside runners for them to give it to.

I suppose it's human nature but every time a side (any side) isn't going well, there is the inevitable finger-pointing at WHO is not being "hard" enough.

IMO it's not so much lack of endeavour but poor skills, dodgy match day tactics, ill-disciplne and a general lack of confidence.

A bit more foot speed around the ground certainly wouldn't do any harm IMO.

I dont't believe it's lack of courage more lack of confidence. It's a thought that maybe I'm not the right one to go for this ball ,maybe it would be better it someone else took possession, someone who is more in form. They have become scared of their own mistakes. The classic example was last Saturday night when the ball bounced between Black and Power and they both stood back waited for the other to go for the ball. Phil Jauncey must be clocking up plenty of overtime trying to get all those football brains back on track.

i agree with you nWo... i think hes a 200 gamer....
the kid has been injured for weeks now & should have been given time off to get better...gee they could have out jared brennan back in injured but no...they must really love jared coz hes like the most looked after blokes @ the club.. i reckon if we had 20000 more players that all of our players would be out coz of injury right now coz none of them are right.... like pikey.. what has he done this year? not like him.. must be something wrong.. same with simon.. we all know that a brownlow medallist cant have a game as bad as he did last week if hes feeling 100%...(just to mention 2.. they're all the same right now!!!) its just hard coz we really dont have any players to put it... poor tom logan.. he would be back in in a flash if he hadn't of dislocated his shoulder.....put in rischitelli & give him a chance....

yeah joel will do well in the ressies this week & then he will be back coz hes a champion player & is working hard.....

& about his kicking...i dont think hes all that bad... i dunno.....maybe i just miss it when he makes mistakes... probably....
