Shane Warne is going bald.
His English county team mate Kevin Pietersen blurted out the awful truth when he was discussing hair styles ahead of the Ashes series.
Fashion-conscious Pietersen revealed that he and Warne, who play together for Hampshire, went to the same London hair stylist who helps them with cutting and tinting.
And they had both noticed that Warney's famed peroxide locks were starting to wear like a fifth-day Test wicket.
"I was actually with him on Friday in London," Pietersen told Sydney radio station 2KY.
"We went and got our hair done with the same dude. (Warne) got his colours done, I had a bit of colour tinted in mine.
"Warney's getting a bald patch at the minute."
The sign of ageing will come as a shock to image-aware Warne, 35, who was suspended for 12 months for taking a diuretic tablet because it would make him look better on television.
Cricket has no law against wearing hairpieces.
