Ainslie 15.8 (98)
Belconnen 14.7 (91)
Tuggeranong 10.9 (69)
Eastlake 14.8 (92)
Weston Creek 5.11 (41)
Queanbeyan 20.15 (135)
Sydney reserves 30.15 (195)
Wagga Tigers 4.3 (27)
The Swans 2nds are now 5-0, with Queanbeyan, Ainslie, Belconnen and Eastlake on 3 each and Weston Creek so far winless. All in all not a bad way to start what was ended as a good day for my Swans ;)
Another huge 2nd half fadeout by Weston Creek. the score at half time was 29-42, in favour of Queanbeyan. almost imediatly after the half time break we lost our entire bench with 3 of our best players sidelined. Nigel Brown, Michael Stevens and Adam Norden were all injured. It is quite frustrating watching Weston play because they are so competitive in first halves, and then the gameplan goes out the window and we lose the plot.
Just from a picture in the paper this morning it looked as if a big crowd turned out to watch Ainslie V Belconnen, they obviously weren't dissapointed with Ainslie getting up by 7pts.

Good to see Scott Walsh still banging on the Canberra Times about Tuggeranong being the 'big improver' and only being one game out of finals. What a ********.
I hope you Lions absolutely belt them next time you play.
harsh, but fair

How would you rate the coverage of the ACTAFL in the Canberra Times?

The number of articles and results, player profiles etc has improved immensely since last year. The bias towards one particular side in the reporting is glaringly obvious though. Anything to raise the profile of the sport in the region though ....

What sort of following does the ACTAFL have in Canberra?
You hear varying reports.
Pretty lousy. There is a huge gap between th top clubs and the bottom clubs in more ways than one. Weston Creeks following consists of under 18 and reserves players, while Ainslie and Belconnen drew a very good crowd on saturday (so I have heard).

with you knowledge of country footy Harsha, is it fair to say Wagga Tigers are wasting their time in the ACTAFL, and must renew their push for inclusion in the O and M... this is their fourth year in the competition, and it must be asked "what have they achieved?".

I would have thought the ACTAFL would be a higher standard than the O & M, certainly the profile is higher. And if that's the case, as long as they are generally competitive (which they seem to be - last weekend excepted) then why not try and pursue success in the higher level league?

Just wondering, what rep games will the ACTAFL be playing this year? I've been thinking it'd be a good idea to have a rep series between the ACTAFL, AFLQ, NTFL (NT), NTFL (Tas) and maybe a few other leagues, would certainly be interesting.
