Brent Moloney is a harder player with about the same skill level as Thompson so i would pick him.

Moloney Melbourne must be rapt in that deal with geelong.
Never understood why Geelong had to give him in order to get Ottens but still hopefully the trade will work out for both clubs.

Coming from someone who thinks Deledio=Judd, your opinion wouldn't be worth having anyway.

For the record, Thommo and Moloney are a very close match, but I would take Thommo on the basis of hardness at the contest. Not much in it though.

bingo, I'd also say Beamer is a better kick and more damaging, but Thommo is harder at the ball (Beamer harder at the man though :D)

I love both to be honest but reckon that Moloney will be better in long term as I think that Thommo has some long term injury problems that he will find hard to get over.

I think with all the injuries he has had in the past (cracked knee cap, shin splints etc) that he will always need to be nursed through and you will never get a full season out of him.

Havbing said that I was more disappointed when Thommo left than when either Woey or Powell left Melb

The same Crows fans know doubt thought Thommo was crap at Melbourne.

It's amazing what the colour of a jumper can do.

I'd love to have both of them....in the same team.

Two great young players, both of which will get AA selections at some stage in their careers.

Moloney, only because he now plays for us as Thommo was my favourite.

I beg to differ, but I am in the same position as Demonheart, as Thommo was my favourite but now Moloney is because he plays the game tough and kicks it long. Also he doesn't take any sh*t i.e Lance Franklin's poor attempt to clean him up in the last quarter on Saturday.

I would want a player that can pick out a man and pass to him.

Yep, it really doesn't surprise me that jealous Geelong supporters are voting for Thompson.

Huh ???

So we have to vote for Tweek do we ?
If he was at Geelong I'd still go Thompson.

That's nothing against Moloney. It's just that Thompson is a bit better.

We are happy with the trade. However I don't think you will be in 5 years time.

moloney is a much better kick and is tougher at the ball

both will be star midfielders in the year to come so both clubs will be happy

geelong wont be though :P

You reckon?

Anyway, obviously being an Crows fan people would expect me to jump on the Thommo train and ride away, but that's not the case. I love Moloney's long-kicking, full steam ahead running game and there's little better than his 55m goals on the run. He will be star midfielder if he keep going like this.

Thompson is a great tackler, in-your-face player that we really needed. Has a real touch of class about him, gets plenty of the ball, is able to weave his way out of trouble, knows how to position himself on the field as is a good finisher in front of goal.

Has obviously had the better year so far but in 2 years I reckon they'll be pretty much equal. That is to say, they will be equal as stars of the competition. :)

Yep,we're really struggling without him.

Get over it twit. It's a win-win-win for all 3 clubs.
