Can anyone tell me how ACK (Consumption College, Kilmore) are going this year?
They lost to Penisula and Essendon Grammar (PEGS) last week. That was a big upset in terms of Assumptions record in the AGSV. This just shows that not only 2 teams are a chance this year.

Thanks, it's hard to get results from the AGSV.

Yeah i know. They never update their site.

Ivanhoe Grammar to win the flag this year! Marcellin lost yesterday by 36 points to trinity who ivanhoe beat last week and with assumption not a super power anymore, other teams who have not previously been considered (i.e. ivanhoe) are in with a huge chance!
Ivanhoe are no chance. Trinity were missing some strong players that day. Ivanhoe just wanted it more. They will not be final contendors. It will be out of PEGS, Assumption, Marcellin and Trinity

we won our last sun shield match, but only kicked 11 goals, 8 of which were kicked by Jesse Silver. not much depth compared to recent years.
Anyone know why Calder cut Jesse Silver?

Good question. I seem to remember that his name was included in the original Calder list which was posted on the TAC Cup site.

Just shows that the AGS can't compete with the big boys of the APS.

Could a pre-season beep test result of 10 have been the reason? Maybe they were wanting someone who was a bit more mobile to play forward at his height, certainly has a stocky build.
I'm really only guessing, I would like to know the reason though.
Given he broke into Assumptions side as a Year 9 and was in the paper and on TV etc at the time, it is amazing that he's vanished from the U18 Tac Cup system.

Last year when Assumption made the trek over to Adelaide to play the might of Sacred Heart in the annual intercol, they went down by about a goal in the end. Do you Assumption boys think you will have what it takes to win the game this year? How much talent have u lost/gained this year?
Just a quick question aswell. Does your school captain Josh (lastname?) play 1sts?

Name the good players that were missing. GOOD players, not average bums who are middle of the rank. Ivanhoe are good this year.
dayne coulson-hoffacker - is on oakleigh list
about half the senior backline, we were playing year tens at full back and chb. Our inexperience leaked through.
Also our ruckman was winning all the taps, except cos he hasn't played or trained during preseason, we weren't winning it out of the centre.
Plus the last quarter went for about 35 minutes...
when u win after the siren after being 35 points down in the 3rd quarter, don't think that will set ur whole season up.

i think both sacred heart and assumption have lost some high quality talent...not sure who assumption have lost but shc lost danny meyer, john hinge, jack juniper (AFL) and tom reddon, corey fitzgerald, brad sugars (State u/18).. Still have sam elliott last yrs medal winner and ged kenny.. some new faces including a towering ruckman and some quality recruits from other schools... Aaron Day, who kickced the winning goal after taking a mark in the goal square, is still dominating.. SHC wil be short and light but play a high possesion game.
Does Marcus Webb and Tyson ____ still play??? And Jesse Sylver is good but was well held by SHC full back who is keen to do it again this year...

tombo... one player on oakleigh! big fkn deal... one unimportant player might i add. If a team is leading by 35 points during any match and lose, then they deserve to lose, to drop a game like that is ridiculous.

yeah your right mate. any team that is up by 35 points during a game should win it and need to have a look at their game plan if they do lose. but seriously, some people are so quick to judge people on this website. if one person says someones good, theres about 2-3 guys that just bag the crap out of them..

mate constructive critiscm is stating what bad things he does and what he should improve on, thats constructive critiscm. your just blasting a player that youve probably never seen play...pathetic

you are an idiot, becuase i wasn't denying that it was trinity's loss. i was saying that it was more trinity's loss than ivanhoe's win, and they shouldnt believe that their season is set.

Marcus Webb recentally played on Nathan Jones and Jones absolutley Killed him Nathan Jones is easily the best player running around in the AGSV this year.
yeh i think jones would be one of the best for sure this year...i think anderson would give him a run for his money but after these championships i think jones is in front..

no competition?????? forgetting something??? like wen u guys broke a 70-game tradition by losing a 10a's match!!!!! get real....assumption 10a's would only need to blow on u guys to beat u!!! mcnamara and hartlett are ur only standouts in an otherwise ordinary team

You SHC year 10 boys have to be dreaming if you think your going to play a game against Kilmore. Firstly you can't even win all your games against Adelaide teams and Secondly no one cares about year 10 football. You should feel privileged to play intercol on the same ground the firsts and seconds do.

Wot do u mean macnamarra and hartlett are the only standouts. U say no1 cares but then u say that macnamarra and hartlett are the only standouts, how would u no, do u watch the games, do u watch Ramsey dominate all over the ground, do u watch Burns mop up in the backlines, do u watch Evan Clarke play up forward. If u dont care, dont watch, but then dont talk about good players if u dont watch

We know that McNammara and Hartlett are the only real standouts cos u some people who do care(dont know who would) actually tell us. Plus everyone knows Hartlett is a gun neway. As for Ramsey, meh i think you are over rating him a bit as watching him train with the 1sts this season he was well below par. Get over him, it is year 10 football and in a good team like Sacred Heart mediocre players can appear better than they actually are. Im not saying he is mediocre, that is just a generalisation but he isn't a star.
PS.. stop posting about how good the year 10A's are becasue you have already tarnished Sacred Hearts fine reputation of an unbeatable school. Good luck for the rest of the year and make sure you boys get fired up for Rostrevor because anything less than a clean sweep against them is unacceptable.
Peace

I agree King Neptune,
The only other reason we know is because the 10a's play before the firsts on many occasions and we get there to support our school. (Considering you do need it).
why is there talk about a year 10 side?? someone please explain it to me...

the 10s rarely play before firsts so dont say on many occasions and also, ur showing great support for your school now, well done mate.
whats adam coff like down at assumption
whats adam coff like down at assumption
coff can play a bit, sits on a wing a can be damaging, good in the air and has strong body. But god dont tell him coz his head is big enough as it is. Loves his hair and muscles, which he will showcase at the grand final in front of what is expected to be large crowd. Apart from the fact that he spends more time baggin his team mates rather then winning the footy, he is a good player.
Yeah i agree coff is a show pony, but doesnt mind a scrap and will put his head over it. Good to hear he will be playing in the final, pegs will be dirty on there 3 point shield loss and will come pumped should make for an interesting contest. Assumption appear to have hit their straps and pegs have gone off the rails, much has changed since their last ags encounter both to the side and mind set of the kilmore boys. And you can never under estimate the pride and spirit that comes with the jumper.
