What changes do you want us to make ?

How do u think the match will go ?

I think we'll win, though i'm concerned about their pace and ability to run out a game. At the dome i'm thinking our quality KPP should get us over the line. Hird is a handy inclusion too...

In: Hird
Out: Rioli (inj - i think ?)

I'd like Watson to come but i'd be worried about dropping a quicker player - perhaps if Solly gets rubbed out.

I reckon Solly will go. McPhee will be withdrawn.
Time for Slattery to come in. I'd like to see Watson in as well.

Not sure who I'd want to come out. Probably Solly and LM.

In : Hird
Out : Solomon (inj) - if not injured then Winderlich

Hard to bring any players from Bendigo into the side as they missed last week with the bye. Prefer to keep changes to a minimum.

Very confident this week.

We can really expose the Bulldogs for height. Especially up forward with Lloyd, Lucas and Laycock. One of these three will kick a bag as the Dogs have only 2 tall defenders in Harris and Grant.

Harris will go to Lloyd and Grant will get Lucas. That leaves Hargrave at 6 "2" to play on either Laycock or Hille.
(By the way for all those wanting to drop Lloyd, look at the above scenario. Its for precisely this reason that we need him in the side, out of form or not).

In the ruck, Minson will have to go with Hille and then a refreshed Laycock. We should be able to wear him out.

Fletcher gets Johnson (if he plays at FF like previous weeks). Fletcher likes playing on the small forward types when given the opportunity.

Cooney, Giansiracusa and Murphy worry me a little but if we can starve them at the centre bounces (which we should) we should be well on our way to victory.

Peverill gets West.
MJ gets Murphy or Giansiracusa - he needs to rough them up a bit too. Fancy either don't like the niggle.

There is also the Swans factor to consider. It was more prevalent early in the season but seems to have tapered off but teams that play the Swans seem to struggle the next match due to the way they play.

I never back my own side but will be doing so this week.

I'd like to see Hird and Jobe back in.

And I'd like to see Murphy out, but that won't ever happen.

Don't you think it's better if Essendon lose games like the one against the Dogs so you have a better shot of winning a Priority Pick at the end of the season, god knows that the Bombers sure need to pick up a classy, pacey midfielder in the draft.

The constant focus of other clubs on losing games to win picks amuses and disgusts me in equal parts.

I don't care how socialist the AFL want to be, I don't ever want to see us do that, and anyone who does are squibs who can't manage their list.

Well it's hard to see if Essendon can win more than 5 games for the rest of the year, you guys are well and truly rooted.

The lower you finish, the better off you will be in the long term.

We only need to win three more games to avoid a priority pick.
We are every chance against the Dogs this week.
We play Carlton, Collingwood, Fremantle, Hawthorn, Sydney, Kangaroos in the run home and are every chance against all of those.

We want a winning culture at Essendon. We want our young players full of confidence, winning games of football. The more games we win, the better off we will be in the long term. We will continue to back in our recruiting department to continue to draft players like Laycock, Bradley, Lovett, Stanton, Monfries, Slattery etc with the picks we get.

In. Hird
Out. Rioli

I hope they don't make many changes this week. I'm very happy with the team at the moment. Theres plenty of players pushing for selection such as Slattery, Monfries, Thomas, Dyson, Watson etc but i'd be happy just to make the one change this week.

This is coming from a guy who cheers that gun eddie betts! Speaking of slow blogs, how is whitnall going? Not playing the bombers every week so he can play above his own abilities? Actually could say that about the entire carlton team.

For what it's worth, I'm not a big fan of Eddie Betts, far better SF's going around. Whitnall isn't much either.
Still we beat Essendon :D
