He's been OK this season and has been handy when pinch-hitting in the ruck.

If you drop him, how will our forward-line shape up? I suppose you think McDougall deserves a game ahead of Lynch.....

Wont really matter what he does this week as he tends to do OK at Subi. Chipping in with a few possies and goals here and there. I liked the way he played when West Coast played Hawthorn at Aurora Stadium. Kicked a couple of goals and had about 8 or 9 marks and was pushing up towards the wing. But I dunno. I reckon maybe they should start the big fella on Tredrea this week and just tell him to play goal side of him like Hunts did to Riewoldt and leave the other Port forwards to Glass and Hunts and Wirra to rebound. Allow Tredrea to take his marks out on the wing where he cant hurt us. Oh well we will see. Heres hoping we just bloody win though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think it is time for Lynch to move back into defence

We are about to play teams with tall forwards lines in the next month or so and Hunter will not be able to match up on them height wise.

Also after 9 games without really nailing the FF position it is probably time to give another player a go at FF

I still much prefer the way he looked into defence. He's more moblie then people will give him credit for, and he's a big hulking CHB. He doesn't need to take marks there (something he's struggled to do consistently this year) and he doesn't need to kick the ball straight every time.

I thought he was very good for us last year down back.

What is the progress with McDougall??

The boy should work with Peter Sumich and let Suma show him how to hold onto his marks. Last year Suma gave a couple of rookie KPP's a real testing in an intense training drill which I saw and Peter is still formidable andgave them a reality check. He should test out the unit

Love the player, nothing would make me happier than to see him become a dominating forward, poleaxing / crunching players on the way to bagging 5 every week.

But ask yourself this?

What would you say if the Dockers had a player like Lynch in their midst? And be honest.

They did, his name was Clive Waterhouse.

And what happened to Clive?

Or should I say, how dDid Footy Fans outside of Freo view Clive?

Who? McDougall isn't ready.

I realise that we are down on FF options at the moment but we are going to need Lynch down back at times

Besides taking a punt on Dougs, The could try Gardiner, Seaby or even Staker

Couldn't agree more with that statement.
While, he has done an ok job at FF, i'm not convinced he's our answer there.
McDougall showed lots of promise and performed regularly there last season, but according to many WA based WCE supporters, isn't ready yet.
Young Smith also has lots of potential according to others.
I certainly think Gardiner or Staker would be worth a try there.
Maybe even give Phil Matera another opportunity there. Used to do ok there before we had other tall marking options.

well done today kicking 4 (haven't seen the whole game. only highlights) but i did one highlight which typified his year exactly as it's been.

ball comes in, brilliant lead from Lynch. Brilliant kick right in front of him but Lynch spills what should be a bread and butter mark for a Full Forward only to pick up his own crumbs, do a pretty quick u-turn for a guy of his size and kick the goal.

He's got the talent, doesn't have the brains. But he's still perfect for CHB i reckon when McDougall is ready.

Leave him where he is, I've got no problem with him, at least he makes a contest pretty much every time and despite what some say, he holds most of his marks and isn't a bad kick. We don't have a better FF option at this point in time.

Good to see Lynch using his size and strength in the marking contests and shepherding.

He's taking a few more marks and seems to keep his head up more.

Woosha was right tonight....Lynch has not stopped trying all year.

Lynch has improved. He seems to be better at using his strength and bulk to fend off his opponents. Still drops too many chest marks and needs to improve his goal kicking but he is improving in those areas too.

Great game by Lynchy today. Held nearly all his marks (except for the one which resulted in a goal for him anyway, all planned I'm sure), and the contests he provided resulted in at least a half-dozen scoring opportunities. Couldn't be happier with his game.

Idiots. Lynch has been very good this year. He's dropped one or two easy ones but he's a big target and is now a very important part of the team.

If Lynchy ever gets confident in his ability and stops worrying about cocking things up he will be awesome.

Good to see him trying hard and getting some reward for effort. Maybe he should play down back on richo next week, would be funny to see if richo loses the plot again :D

No. Glass will continue his run of bitchifying Richo. Ergo, tantrum.

I swear to God, Lynchy's problem isn't that he's dumb, he just thinks too much. See him miss that shot and nearly pull his goddamn hair out? Putting too much pressure on himself.

I dont know about everyone else but I think that this weeks match aginst Richmond is Quentin Lynch's biggest test! - If the big man can make an impact over in Melbourne against the Tigers in front of the feral tigers supporters then I reckon he could just keep getting better. He has been so frustrating this year but at least he gives 100% always second efforts etc. He is good on the ground level for a beast of a man. I would love to see him kick 6 or 7 goals or go down back and keep one of Richo, Stafford or Simmonds completely out of the game. Time for the Lynch to be released!!!
