i know he went out first over of the morning but how about this:
4 overs to bat to be not out over night most people end up being 1* or 2* but he hit a 6 over mid wicket, what a gun!
i know he is inconsistant but what a highlights package he is though, how was that cover drive for 6 against mcgrath of all people in the 3rd test at sydney
him, shewag and cairns would have to be my 3 favourite non-aussie players huge hitters and fast scoring awesome!

Good if you want 32 from 16 balls from your opening batsman when trying to save a test i guess,
A gun in the one dayers though especially when batting 7/8.

Great player, he was a favourite among us fans when he was down here for the Test and one day series. Hopefully we have plenty more of his antics to come, he's still pretty young in cricket terms.
He's brilliant. Not quite in the Gilchrist class yet, but he does seem to be getting more consistent and if he keeps improving, well...
Not a bad bowler and fieldsman either.
He gets bums on seats. Well, until they bounce up and down or take evasive action anyway.

yeah awesome player who hopefully we'll be able to see more of the best of him. Hits some of the most unorathdox shots and gets away with them and also has his fare share of traditional normal shots. Bolwing can be very good as well and with Leggies and Offies can be hard to pick as well. Quite a good fielder too.
C'Mon Shahid lets see the best of you yet mate :)

There are a couple stories going around that there was a fight in the dressing room between Afridi and his stand in captain Younis and the injured captain Inzi. Afridi was upset at being asked to open the innings.
The three players apparently got into an altercation when Afridi showed his displeasure at being asked to open the batting by Younis in Pakistan's first innings. Inzamam then joined in the argument and supposedly exchanged heated words with Younis before the other players intervened.

Afridi opened in the 1st inning debarcle and made 16 off 15. He batted 6th in the 2nd innings and made 122. A good point well made.

He also provides variety with fastish leg spinners and excellent fielding.
He is an awesome player but can be very inconsistent though. If he put toghether a string of consistent good performancs he would be a better player than Ponting.

I often wonder what he would have been like if he'd grown up in Australia.
His attacking flair with a bit of polish would have made him even more wonderful to watch.

When on song he's a good player to watch, but there are some parts of his game that worry me and question whether he can be a long-term option for the test side in Pakistan.
1) Consistency
2) Running between the wickets
3) Bowling: I question his ability to get top class players out consistently
4) Shot selection
That said, he has talent to burn...

He is a champ as said lots before those critical points easily fixed.
1) Consistency
He bats so low usually, he doesnt have enough time, So give him a fair go.
2) Running between the wickets
Hit '6's' or 4's, as the go usually is
3) Bowling: I question his ability to get top class players out consistently
Maybe the other bowlers should do their one and only job
4) Shot selection
?? hmm, im sure he could hit a six with any shot :) haha
top player him

1) His scores in tests over last few months: 12, 46 (Aus) 29, 59 (Ind) 0, 58, 16, 122, 33, 43 (WI).....seems to be getting pretty consistent.....
And averages over 35 in tests, damn good for an allrounder
2) Running between the wicket is not bad...
3) 3/80, 0/47, 2/30, 3/13 (Ind) 0/32, 3/49, 3/51 (WI)
Picked up Tendulkar and Sehwag on a couple of occasion in the Indian
series and also picked up Lara at least once in Windies.....Averages 30 with the ball, which is pretty good for a specialist legspinner and world class for an allrounder.....
4) If he learns to do that, then he will be the most dominating batsman in the
game.....
