I was speaking to Mark Harvey in Adelaide last weekend, who was here for the Hawks v Power game and he told me that he had already been appointed coach of Freo. The announcement was to be made after the GF. He assured my that he was telling me the truth so I was just wondering if you guys would be happy with Harvey as your coach?.

Conolly is the red hot favourite over here.
And I would personally take him any day over harvey.

He seems to have had a far more solid grounding and looks to be continueing the hawks to coach tradition.

Then again its russian Roulett with both.

Carb, I hope you're right on this one. Harvey is my prefered coach for Freo, but the media here has said that Conolly has the job.

Fairly risky with either of them since they aren't tried and proven coaches the Dockers were hoping to get earlier on this year.

I'd prefer Harvey because I think he would be in a similar mould to Woosha (hard and tough player, would be respected as a coach, works well with younger players, has served time under the best coach in the league). When will the final decision be announced?

Carb70, sorry I've taken a while to pose the question, but how dinkum did Harvey sound when he said the Freo job was in the bag? I find that extraordinarily balls out.

I think Harvey would go OK, but I'm not the biggest wrap for him.

He basically said the job was already his. I have to admitt I might of had a couple of drinks at the time after all my team had just been knocked out of the finals. He is a hard person to read so I don't know if he was taking the mickey out of me or not.

I think Harvey would be a better option than Conolly. I think with Sheedy's influence Harvey would have the Dockers playing some good positive football. The Dockers have got a good young exciting list and I would hate to see someone like Conolly with a Hawthorn back ground where the aim is to play negative football and flood back a lot take control of Freo.

Big rumour is that the dockers told gaspar that connolly was the new coach while trying to entice him back west.

Either way I wish t6hey would make a decision. Connolly or Harvey, who's it gunna be.

It is starting to be a pain, all this fart arsing about. Schwab has signed someone. I'm sure of it.

If we get Harvey, Gaspar and Farmer, exciting times ahead.

What's poor old Chris Connolly gotta do! I notice Brad Hardie has written an article saying the Dockers should appoint Harvey.

As a Hawthorn supporter I can't speak highly enough of Connolly, he has been absolutely fantastic, has a great football brain, and relates well to all the players.

But the important thing is you hurry up and announce it! It may have already cost you Gaspar, can't afford to lose any more possible recruits because of the dithering.

I heard that Harvey has now pulled out of the race. That leaves Connolly and er..... Well I guess Connolly is going to be the next coach.

Brad Hardie was looking for a tried, tested and proven coach for Fremantle in 2002. Connolly has a 100% winning ratio after he coached the Hawks to that win earlier on this season when Schwab was ill. I guess he fits the criteria and has the best possible record!
