A 23 year old defender who hasn't been beaten this season and won plenty of the ball.
Yep we are screwed.
Will Richmond supporters get over Ty. He is an Essendon player now, he hasn't put a foot wrong and he is playing good footy. Let's leave it at that hey?

Ty has been great this year.
Great pickup, I couldn't see why we wouldn't want to keep him for at least that long.

Think of who you'll pick up between now and then. He wont be playing for Essendon in 2 years.

What has young Slatts done wrong to deserve that?
I'm telling you, that number has been cursed for years.

I dunno....it needed to be filled and I thought he deserved one better than 34?

I think the #3 has been cursed for a number of years, too.

Surely you don't speak of Aaron Henneman in that manner.

Essendon will not win a premiership for a while yet. Most of your spine are over the hill and once they go who will step up?
Fletcher 30 (1-2 years left)
Bradley (bit left)
Allan (gone)
Lucas 28 this year (3-4 years left)
Lloyd 27 (4-5 years)
Who can replace them?
Andrew Lee (who?)
Bradley (will go alright)
David Hille (will go alright but isnt he about 24)
Ted Richards/Mark Bolton DUDS
Courtney Johns (will he stay injury-free)
What other young players do you think will step up and fill the gaping holes that will be left in 5 years time?

What other young players do you think will step up and fill the gaping holes that will be left in 5 years time?
Laycock, Bradley, Johns, Lee, Cartledge for starters.
I've been very critical of Sam Hunt in the past, but I actually think he has turned a corner this year and he might come good. I'd play him this week.
Plus we will have draft picks in the next 5 years, it isn't like we are stuck with this list, so we will have the opportunity to draft replacements. We are likely to draft Jay Neagle with a father/son pick this season. He has kicked a lot of goals playing at FF in the under 18's competition.
Bradley has all the qualities of being a quality CHB as does Johns (body permitting) of being a quality FF/CHF. Laycock has been very exciting up forward and I'm a massive fan of Tristian Cartledge in the ruck. Jobe Watson has been averaging 20+ possessions at CHF in the VFL this season.
There is a bit of depth there and I'm sure we add to that in the next couple of years.

Is Watson being groomed for a KP role. For most of his junior footy he was a gun midfeilder?

I don't think he is being groomed for anywhere, but he certainly has the ability to play tall, he is 194cm.
During his junior footy career he would play in the midfield and rest at FF.
He has played most of his footy for Bendigo at CHF, but has spent time in the middle as well.
At this stage I'm not sure if that is a bonus for Jobe that he can play anywhere or if it is hurting him but he has looked dominant at CHF.

Reminds me a lot of Misiti - who if you rmemeber played KP (CHB) quite often early on. Played in the centre against the Doggies and this suggest Sheedy wants him to be a the midfielder we desperately need. No suprise that with him in the middle we looked pretty good against the doggies. Needs to get injury free though.
Can play up forward - but I like him more to a Hird type in that, he doesn;t nec. play key position but more as a flanker who can mark overhead but also crumb.
