I find the price of boxsets in Australia to be pretty poor in comparision to oversea's . Take Andromeda Season 1 boxset as an example

From Amazon in Canada (http://www.amazon.ca/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0000DIZR6/qid=1118301681/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i1_xgl/701-5175171-6938766) it costs $79.99 canadian, or $83 Australia, yet at Ezydvd in Australia (http://www.ezydvd.com.au/item.zml/221837) it costs $149.95.

My thoughts on a few of the online stores mentioned.

DVDPacific: Were excellent until the credit card fiasco. I will never use them again.

DVDSoon: Up and down, but still my first choice of R1 etailer. Prices are usually excellent (high atm though) and shipping is always quick.

Amazon: Amazon are the choice if you want customer service. Their prices are high and their shipping takes a while, but if you have a problem with your order they ALWAYS replace or refund without question.

I second this. It was a great series (lasted 6 or so seasons right?, started with Kevin starting junior high, year 6, and finished with Kev after high school).

I haven't seen an episode since the 90s I think, but a few favourites come to mind.

* 1st episode, Kevin starts junior high, Winnie's brother dies

* Kevin trying to get the nerve to call Lisa Berlini the night of the moon landing, Wayne giving Kev a hard time as usual.

* Any episode with Becky Slater

* Excursion to the museum, the "Winnie is perfect" episode

* The only one where Kevin's parents get into a fight

* Kev's mum works at Kev's school

* Paul tries out for basketball

* David Shwimmer (sp?) character living with Kev's hippie sister, Kev's dad getting angry

* Kev "doing a Cupido" on his maths test

* Kev and Wayne wanting their sister's room

* Any episode with the gym teacher, especially the one where he plays Santa

* Kev's old teacher giving birth

* Kev's dad bagging the basketball team from the stands

* 2 part last episode with Kev chasing Winnie

All memorable highlights. Was that maths episode the one with his teacher that passes away? That was a nice one.

And the last episodes *sigh*, were terrific. I found the last bit of dialogue from the final on the net which gave me goosebumps (corny but shh).

“Once upon a time there was a girl I knew, who lived across the street. Brown hair, brown eyes. When she smiled, I smiled. When she cried, I cried. Every single thing that ever happened to me that mattered, in some way had to do with her. That day Winnie and I promised each other that no matter what, that we'd always be together. It was a promise full of passion and truth and wisdom. It was the kind of promise that can only come from the hearts of the very young. The next day Winnie and I came home. Back to where we'd started. It was the 4th of July in that little suburban town. Somehow though, things were different. Our past was here, but our future was somewhere else. And we both knew, sooner or later, we had to go. It was the last July I ever spent in that town. The next year, after graduation, I was on my way. So was Paul. He went to Harvard, of course. Studied law. He's still allergic to everything. As for my father...well...we patched things up. Hey, we were family. For better or worse. One for all...and all for one. Karen's son was born in that September. I gotta say, I think he looks like me. Poor kid. Mom, she did well: business woman, board chairman, grandmother...cooker of mashed potatoes. The Wayner stayed on in furniture. Wood seemed to suit him. In fact he took over the factory two years later....when dad passed away. Winnie left the next summer to study art history in Paris. Still we never forgot our promise. We wrote to each other once a week for the next eight years. I was there to meet her, when she came home, with my wife and my first son, eight months old. Like I said, things never turn out exactly the way you planned. Growing up happens in a heartbeat. One day you're in diapers; next day you're gone. But the memories of childhood stay with you for the long haul. I remember a place...a town...a house like a lot of other houses... A yard like a lot of other yards...on a street like a lot of other streets. And the thing is...after all these years, I still look back...with wonder.”
[credits roll, with voiceover] Young boy's voice: Hey Dad, wanta play catch? [Narrator (Kevin)]: I'll be right there."

Each to their own.

I've used both Amazon and Amazon.ca at least 100 times over the past 2 years and have never had a problem with their customer service.

When i've had an issue with their packaging or lateness of delivery, they've always given me a NQA refund/re-shipment.
