Anyone notice that the moment Joel Corey came on, we kicked 5 straight? Co-incidence?

Our best midfielder.
Tough, uncompromising and good skills.

Ive alyways rated Corey very high.
Not being able to see the game, im not sure if he had a part in the 5 goals, but wouldnt suprise me if he did.

We did,but I think it more to do with the other guy that came on around the same time - Ricco.

Based on todays game, give Ricco a 5 year contract right now, just to make sure he plays next year. Not for the first time he kept us in it when the young guys were down.
Ricco comes on, bang two goals, the role he has played all year has just worked beautifully.
Was good to have Corey back again.

I hope they can nurse him to 300 games, would be very deserving. If he keeps playing like he is they'll have no worries.

how was Smithy's first 10 seconds on the ground? Got the ball handballed to him, right under the pump. Manages to break the tackle and fire a handball over the top to a teammate, got straight back up and got it again. Pure Class!! :)

I have to agree. I dont know he will continue on next year... If he can keep up the way he is playing now I would think it is possible.

He deserves and will be given every chance. It's just a matter of whether Peter wants to do his 16th pre-season as a senior footballer.
Still the best finisher on the list.

*hypothetically speaking here* if geelong were to make the grand final this year and lose, would ricco want to put himself through that again? he's done it 3 times already. how many more heartbreaks does he have in him? the body is still up to it, providing the cats keep him fresh but i wonder if he's only holding out for one more chance at a flag.

Slow down, mate.
I've never been a fan of hypotheticals in any context, and we are a long way from a Grand Final.
I echo the comments that Riccardi deserves to be nursed to 300 games. A great servant.

300 games huh? Why the hell not, he still gives us something most weeks :)
If he keeps going on the way he has this season, they'll keep him on for another year I'd hope....
I just love it when he gets the ball, you just know he'll choose the right option and get rid of it cleanly, still probably has the best disposal skills of any player on the list...

yeah i know we're a long way off it, i was trying to put forward a best case scenario. i'd love to see him hit 300 games too.

Joel Corey is fast turning into one of the better midfielders in the AFL.
I love the way they use Ricco, and he seems to be enjoying it too!

I don't think it's a coincidence we lost 2 games when Corey was out. He's so underrated, you don't notice him much but he gets 25 touches a game and basically never stuffs up. At the moment clearly our best and most consistent midfielder.
