The 2 good sides are doing battle tonight in a Day/Night contest at Trent Bridge

England have won the toss and will bat first

They have made 2 changes, Giles and Chris Tremlett in for Gough and Solanki

Trescothick
Strauss
Vaughan
Collingwood
Flintoff
Pietersen
Jones
Giles
Lewis
Tremlett
Harmison

Be interesting to see if bangladesh can even take a wicket against a decent team as they have failed to so far in their only encounter, if they bat like that again they could make 400 without loss

I wonder if the Aussies, fans and players, are watching this game? England showing everyone how to play one day cricket.

Bangladesh aint bowling worse than they did against Australia, just England is a much better team

England 0/83 12 overs
Trescothick 42*(46)
Strauss 33*(31)

Compassion? Haha, the Australian cricket team showing compassion, that would be a first :p

Talking about compassion, highlight of the series so far, the young kid doing the fielding on the outside tripped over the covers getting the ball. Atleast he showed more effort than any Aussies have so far this series in fielding the ball :p

The 15th over goes for 4, 6, 4, 4, nb, 4, 0 - 23 runs.

This has the potential to get very ugly, England are 0/128 after 15 overs.

I think the honeymoon is over for the Bangers!

22 Jun 2005, 09:20
I would count Ashraful's innings as the best by a Bangla player in ODI history. 94 off just 52 balls is a sensation. Almost back to back centuries against two of the best bowling attacks in the world. If he had reached his 100 he would have slotted into 5th spot on the all time fastest 100s list behind Afridi (37 balls), Lara and Afridi (45 balls) and Jayasuriya (48 balls).

Flintoff with 30 off 4 overs takes the most stick and goes wicketless against the Banglas for the second time. Tremlett has had a buzz over him this year for his England potential and he may have done enough to keep his spot with 4 wickets.

It is becoming increasingly obvious that Vaughan is the worst player on the English team. His duck off 8 balls shows his form, his career average is 28, the next worst average from an England batsman or allrounder is Collingwood on 32. He is the only player from the top 6 not averaging over 30 and not to have scored a century and his scoring rate is poor. It is acceptable to score slowly if you are accumulating runs in tough games, Martyn and Dravid are examples, but a low average and slow scoring rate indicates he is unable to get himself in and drive on to a big score.

relax ,thats the sound of "straw clutching" .
Focus on the one tiny thing that might be classed as a negative and make a big deal about it in true classless aussie fashion.
and then proceed to ignore everything else that happened in the game.
Like the fact that collingwood was the first ever player to score a ton and take 6 wickets in a ODI or the fact that is was the 2nd or 3rd highest total in the history of one dayers...
or the fact that the bango's got crushed in the overall score.
