Good effort by the Porters to come back after such a trifle start to the season. Well done guys. Thanks to the Bombers for making this possible.

I wonder if the disaster at the beginning was a wake up call and ole Chocko is wisely managing the team to peak by the finals? ;)

Great game last night. I was cheering home the Dons, even though it stuffed up my tipping.

But hey, this Cain Ackland -- marks, goals, apparently does a little rucking on the side. Sounds like exactly what we need -- what d'you think it would take to get him?

:D Indeed. I don't suppose he'd appreciate being the Dean Brogan of 2006, 2007, ....

Bloody Ackland would miss from the goal square when he played for the Magpies ... and he had plenty of game time there. I reckon he's another Ian Perrie - world beater in the hermetically sealed environment, egg beater out in the weather.

That Monfires looks a bit alright too. If that was Thomson or Eckerman playing that way for us, I would be very happy with their contribution. I guess the difference is that when the game was there to be won in the tight last half, Sheedy didn't have Thomson.....oh, I mean Monfries, keeping the bench warm.

So was in agony to know the result, as by the time I got back the tennis was on. Found a PC and checked the AFL website later, phew!

I picked the bombers, and now we must keep winning and not hope for those above us to lose.

We will keep winning, its on wards and upwards from here. Really looking forward to coming home and seeing the boys take on the dee's. I WANT TO SEE THEM WIN!!!

Answer - NO !

Slattery from essendon is my nephew and is 1 of 4 brothers all who played for westies - only charles is playing ther now.

Slattery from the magggies is from the Gawler area and played country footy until coming to the maggies this year.

BTW I heard Andrew Jarman yesterday on the radio and one of the roosters players - Haseldine - is debuing at age 31 after playing country footy !
