I probably had these decided by about halfway thru the third quarter as hardly anyone wearing Crows colours performed impressively from that point on.

Best on Ground

5. McLeod - just a joy to watch in this sort of form, provided plenty of run and never wasted a kick
4. Edwards - ball magnet, probably his best game for about two months
3. Perrie - took his marks and kicked accurately, keeps the baggers like me quiet for another week
2. Ricciuto - always the cool head in the midfield
1. Goodwin - continued his fine season, his delivery into the forward fifty was superb

Best Team Man

3. Mattner - his spoiling was a feature
2. Thompson - not his most polished performance but the hard work was evident
1. Shirley - another hard worker

Rookie

1. Van Berlo - by far the most impressive performance of his young career, some of kicks were exceptional

5. Edwards - saved our arse so many times and pushed forward
4. McLeod - gave Farmer an absolute shameful bath and provided plenty of drive, that goal was awesome
3. Perrie - the glove had given Perrie the confidence he needs, marking everything, providing a dominant target, he's revelling in having McGregor up there. Loved to see him going down to take Pavlich when Bock drifted off him, great team play. And having McPharlin moved down back onto him was a great sign of respect.
2. Goodwin - continued his great form
1. Burton - very impressed with him today, was very good

BTM

3. Thompson - the enforcer, was always in it or going to the defense of his teammates
2. Mattner - some great desperate work
1. Shirley - continues to be a great negater while adding some attacking flair to his game.

Rookie

Van Berlo - Rutten was his usual solid self, but Van Berlo was fantastic - with some gametime, I was incredibly impressed with his hardness and some fantastic direct, well-balanced passing. Definitely got some nice footskills.

And wow, we need Pavlich. I thought was inevitable after Dyertribe rubbished Pavlich for having only kicked as many goals as Perrie, he'd absolutely maul us. 8.1 says it all, and shows Bock he has a lot to work on. Wow what an awesome team we'd be with him down there...and shows Connolly the advantages of playing the big lump closer to goal - I think his goal output is of greater value than losing the benefits of his aerobic capacity further up the field.

Also, awesome tackle on the wing in a 2:1 situation that should have resulted in a Perrie goal (but ended up a point).

Hmmm a lot of different people in and out all game.

5.Edwards.... just got it only blemish OOF
4.McLeod ... very good Jeff didnt know what to do.
3.Perrie .. should have gone to the glove 5 years ago. ( I wonder if it is part of a positive reinforcement tactic by CW)
2.Mattner .. does a lot quietly
1.Ricuitto... good captains game

BTM
3.Thompson... the more I see the more I like
2.Shirley..bobbed up enough to hurt Fremantle
1.Bock.. His first half was good enough to keep Pav quiet and to help set up a strong lead. He did fade but he wasnt an orphan

Rookie

Huh? Theres someone elses name here instead of Rutten?

5. Edwards. Had to be him. Worked his arse off around the packs and the ground, and was the best of our on-ballers.

4. McLeod. Also thought he had to be next. plenty of the old Macca magic on display today - showed Farmer up for the hack that he really is.

3. Perrie. Good on ya Sarge. Gave us something to aim at up forward.

2. Bassett. Another faultless display in the BP. Would be unfair if he's not seriously in AA considerations.

1. Goodwin. Not quite as dangerous to day but still had a good impact on our on-ball drive.

Best Team Man

3. Mattner. Developing nicely into a hard-working wingman with a dash of class.

2. Ricciuto. Steadied the ship when it needed to be - a great skipper.

1. Shirley. Honest as the day is long and adds grunt to the mid-field.

Rookie

Van Berlo. Great effort from the youngster today. He has the goods.

"Rubbished"?

Dramatisation at its finest.

Regardless, I actually had a feeling Pav would have a day out (posted elsewhere) so it all evens out in the end. ;)

5. Edwards 29 touches, thought he was our best

4. Mcleod 19 touches 6 marks 1 goal. Farmer 10 touches, 3 marks 0 goals. Enough said.

3. Goodwin – 23 touches. Has played better games, but still thought he was ok.

2. Sarge – 16 touches, 9 marks. presented well for us. Preferred he kicked straighter though

1. Bassett. – Excellent game in defence.

BTM
3 – Mattner. 16 touches, 5 quality tackles and a sh|t load of 1 per centers.

2 – Bassett. 14 touches and 7 marks. Some of those ‘running with the flight of the ball’ marks were outstanding.

1 – Mcleod. Sacrificed his game for the sake of the team. Destroyed Farmer.

Rookie.
VB.- 16 touches, a few clangers, but did enough to impress and get himself a vote.

I'd say underrating Pavlich's season because he's 'only kicked as many goals as Perrie' is rubbishing. :p

5 - Andrew McLeod - So important for him to shut down Farmer today as he has been the catalyst for their away wins over Melbourne and Geelong. Loved his 5-minute cameo in the midfield, going to be unleashed in the finals.

4 - Tyson Edwards - Haven't put him in the votes for a while, good to see him back up the top.

3 - Rocket Rob Shirley - Another great tough game.

2 - Ian Perrie - Presented well, kicked OK for goal, looking good with the glove.
