I do, because the test matches are a harder act to follow.
The ODIs are a good build up, and I reckon the players put in a bit more because they want to guarantee a test spot.
Having the ODIs after the tests would kind of be like having the Wizard Cup after the Grand Final......well sorta :p
Nope- gotta disagree- the ODIs may be a better spectacle and bring in the dosh, but the y are really no preparation for the test matches....they could play them at any time, and they'd get the crowd and tV coverage.
Not the same batting for a couple of hours and using shots you won't necessarily use in test cricket... As for bowlers..well, how many times will you bowl five overs and then take a break in a Test? Even the best quick needs to bend his back for seven or eight overs.....and then come back a couple hours later and do it again... if Lee gets picked, watch him crumble as he is sorted out over a longer period....he hasn't bowled long spells in a long time....
Three and four day matches to start the tour....but won't happen, since the big thing now is to make money for the national associations.....Final bit- how can this be a decent lead in for the tests when there will be new guys coming for the tests?

I am very happy that we have the ODI's before the Tests as they are giving us a chance to get into form - the Tests are the main event and the ODI's dont matter but they are a good chance to prepare for the tests and gives us the opportunity to play against some of the England Players who we have not played against before.
I think it was '97 we lost the ODI series but then crushed them in the Tests.

Either way, don't care. I think this time it will probably serve well. Would not have liked to go straight into ashes after a big break of no cricket. But then if that had been the case we would have had a couple of first class matched to get our eyes in.
ODI is pretty much shyte anyway. Wouldn't care if they stopped playing it altogether.

Totally agreed. What makes it worse now is they are introducing that Twenty20 rubbish. Sure, let's make it more of a batter's game than it already is.
I absolutely love Test matches - far ahead of One Dayers obviously. Just the whole historical nature about it I love.
