3. Jason Johnson
2. Kepler Bradley
1. Brent Stanton

Apologies to Thomas, Yakult, Welsh and NLM.

Bradley 2 votes? You must be kidding. He gave away 3 goals from mistakes and nearly another one before he was put in the ruck. Although he battled hard in a position he's not used to, was completely thrashed. He looked lost and totally missing that confidence he had before his injury this year.

My Votes:

3. Jason Johnson (battled hard all day)
2. Paul Thomas (beat every opponent he had and 1%'ers were great)
1. Matt Lloyd (4 goals for the service he got was pretty good)

3 JJ-Tried hard all day
2 Thomas-Rising Star Nom this week?
1 Lloydy-It was funny to see him kick 4 straight after the Tigers lady next to me said "He's finished, you'd trade him for Richo in a second".

2. Lloyd (who did as much as he possibly could considering the conditions, and a bit more)

1. Thomas

Thomas is a fantastic pickup. That's the first time I've really had a chance to see him.

And I thought Bradley was pretty good today too....not sure which game you were watching TeeBee... made a few mistakes, but then, who didn't?

Tough day. Especially for Johns.....to be thrown in on a day like that....he never stood a chance (not that anybody with half a brain was expecting much from him) but then, it's done now.....he can only get better. Once he starts to get a feel for the pace of AFL, I"m sure we'll see his confidence improve.

Longy413 - point taken about his kicking. ;) But again, it was a terrible day for a kid like him with such big expectations to make his debut....although I still think it's great that he played. If anything, the weather helped him by lowering the expectations of all watching....after all, you don't expect all that much from your key forwards on days like this. I didn't even think he'd play.

3. Lloyd - to kick 4 in those conditions, with that delivery, i don't know what more he could have done.
2. JJ - worked hard and got a lot of it though i don't think he did a lot with it.
1. Thomas - battled hard.

Solly and Keps would be next.

3 - Thomas. Will promptly be dropped next week.

2 - Stanton. Looked the only bloke who kept running and presenting all day.

1 - JJ/Solly.

Umpires destroyed the game's passion in the first quarter imo. Pot luck frees all over the place.. to both teams.

The massiah did ok in the end really. Big ask. All I wanted to see was his booming left foot, maybe next week. He just looks like a footballer though, a few more games and a proper per season. He is coming.

Some our blokes have forgotten about the hard ball. Lots of standing and watching today.

3. JJ - Only guy willing to get the hard ball in the middle, didn't get involved in the 'push and shove' and worked his ass off back to some pretty good form

2. Lloyd - Strung together 4 goals that brought us right back into the match. Really attacked the football on the lead and got the explosive sprint off the mark back. With some quality ball he will soon be kicking bags again.

1. Thomas - I saw him in the wizard cup and loved what I saw then. Today he started to use his run off the HB line which we drafted him over because of. He is a good defender too, laying the -equal- second most tackles on the ground. An attacking defender who is willing to put in the hard yards to get back.

Not saying he was our worst, but was just questioning LM's votes with his name popping up. Bradley made three key mistakes that led directly to goals. Two of them were from failed spoiling attemps which I felt both were extremely weak from Kep's behalf, not throwing himself at the ball, almost stretching his arm out but not wanting any body contact. His 4th major mistake was again a poor attempt at spoiling, but fortunately it was cleared to safety by our backs.
Now I can't fault him too much when he was thrown into the ruck because obviously Laycock got injured and Kep's was asked to do a job he has little experience in (big mistake not playing cartledge after a solid reseves performance). Ultimately he was thrashed in the middle. He got a few touches around the ground but so did his opponent as they played off each other.

At the end of the day he got 20+ possessions, but don't be fooled by those figures. Most of these were roaming aimlessly around the ground after Laycock day was finished and his mistakes which led directly to Tiger goals cost dearly early on. I think he had a poor day.

p.s. I thought Fletch played a good game today, might swing my 1 vote from Lloyd to Dustin. Held richo to 2 goals and was the general in a stretched backline.

stants worked hard, but turned a few too many over, otherwise he'd be in the votes.

mark bolton, did he get a touch after the first qtr? did he get within 20 feet of the ball? absolute rubbish after a promising start in the forward line (gee I wonder how many times I've said that over the last few years)

please cleanout the deadwood at the end of the year efc. maybe a 'jet midfielder' this year?

Lloydy also did well. He is getting bagged all season, but when the ball hits the ground in the forward line he attacks it and drills the opposing defender 8 out of 10 times. He is a nasty tackler who lets them know he is there, something missing in a lot of forward line players.

Laycock.....what is it with him running into packs with the flight of the ball?? he gave away a free and just plain got in the way on a couple of other occassions. If he isnt *there* he should either learn to read the play a bit better or sit a kick back. experience i guess..

Solomon, pull your finger out.
