Since Gaspar is signing a prestigious 5 yr deal, Richmond wont be able to fit Ben Holland in their salary Cap.

We are a deadset chance at signing him!

It's scary how underwhelming I find the thought of trading Ben Holland. How many high draft picks are we going to give up this time to get a player, who, frankly, is at best Richmond's 5th best tall player? And what makes anyone think he'd be a world beater just because he's in a Crows guernsey?

geez, if you dont want him he can certainly come to Port Power and fill the spot left by Mead/Paxman this/next year. He isnt a wordle beater, but the Crows and Port could both afford to get him. Mark Stevens isnt a world beater either but he is getting more and more important each year.

:) A potential win-win deal for Tigers and Crows if the Crows can deal something to richmond...word is that richmond want 2 high selections...not players. It will be interesting to see which clubs, players and selections are traded around.

Mark Stevens is a good analogy, Macca. The problem as I see it is that Adelaide swapped McCartney for Stevens. Richmond want Adelaide to find a top 8 pick from somewhere to trade for Holland. There's no way a McCartney equivalent would be worth a top 8 pick, so Holland is going to cost us WAY too much - like a Kane Johnson.

Just saw on Ch 10

The crows have put Vardy, Johnson and Eccles on the table

I cant believe they are thinking of Trading Kane, hes finally got over injuries and played real well in the senond half of this season.

But I guess, if we want a good player, we will have to trade good :(

Exactly QT, we can have all the midfield power we want but we need someone to kick it to or someone to stop goals being kicked, if that makes any sense. :)

These guys we're trading are reasonably good players but if we're going to take the next step we need forwards and a key defender. If we sit on the list we have I don't think we'll improve for about the next 3 years.

Whatever it takes we need to get Holland!! (although I have a sneaking suspicion we may miss out)

im shocked and cant understand why on earth the Crows are looking to trade Kane Johnson. I rate him highly and i cant believe they want to get rid of him.

Vardy - well i dunno about him...his mind isnt in it...he WANTS to play for Sydney apparently

Eccles is no big loss....he is an average player at best

:p Nah you Croweaters are just saying nice things about Kane to get Richmond recruiters(who surf here regularly picking up ideas)to trade Ben Holland.

seriously is kane that good..or is it all a beat up ?
BTW : Ben has signed an agreement with Adelaide. Crows have offered pick 28 and Kane as trade.

I think he's that good.

I'd rate him only behind Macca, Goody and Roo as midfielders at the club and if he ever had an uninterrupted season playing in the middle of the ground, he'd be a bonafide star.

Sadly, injuries and lack of opportunities for a regular spot in the middle have meant he hasn't shown his true abilities. Kane is also a big game player, performing key roles in our premiership triumphs.

This year he played the approx. the last 15 games without injury and looked to be shaking off his troubles with a restricted training program. I expect him to really shine next year wherever he plays.

I, for one, really hope this trade goes through. Dutchey tried hard, but 25 good games in six years isnt what I'd call a great return! And certainly not worth $400k per year ( RIPPED OFF! ). Looking at his stats over the past few years, he doesn't stack up all that well. One thing you crows can look forward to is his precision disposal ( NOT!! )....the amount of times I hung my head when Benny would direct a bullet-like pass directly to the opposition!!

I can't wait until your boys front up against us at the G to see the reception the Tiger Army give him. After watching him numerous times at training trying to keep up with Richo or out-mark Ottens, it will be interesting to see who he gets.

Seriously, maybe I'm being a bit harsh as he is a genuinely nice bloke. I just think that Adelaide have gotthe raw end of the deal on this one.

Like I said."We wont get Holland unless we bleed And as much as I dont want Sugar to go home ...it looks on the cards

I'd rather Johnson stayed at the Crows but he's goin home next year anyway. He will make us regret trading him....but thats football.
ps What does that say about the Tiger Army? They'll probably throw cow dung at him...
