The decline continues at Liarn Park . :o
Lauderdale led by 60 points early in the last quarter we heard, 16.5.101 to 6.5.41 over the Liarns, so the Bombers must've stopped a fair bit.

An interesting round of matches there yesterday.
In the Premier League, New Norfolk go further and further ahead, this time demolishing Kingborough up at Boyer to the tune of 113-points.
Kingborough saved face a little by booting 6.0 in the last quarter, it could've been a lot worse.
The Eagles had Salter booting 10 goals for them.
New Norfolk's destiny is in thier hands now, 15-0 with all to play for, to break a 23 year premiership drought.
I remember Hobart in 2000 under Gilbee being 16-1 (with a 1-point loss on the siren at Boyer in Round 2) being in the same position, but copped a stack of injuries and never even made the Grand Final, so there's a lot of water left under the bridge yet.
Glenorchy exposed a few chinks in the Roos armour handing them a 30-point defeat at KGV. The Roos seem to be getting a little out of form at the wrong end of the season, they usually start peaking around now.
The Magpies have been a little inconsistant, but a good win there may give them a bit more confidence going into the finals.
North Hobart gave Brighton a football lesson at North Hobart yesterday and, but for shocking kicking, could've really torn the Robins a new one.
The Demons were 17.14 to half time and 90-points up, and a similar tale to the reserves looked likely (North booted 38.13.241 to 3.7.25), but the Robins played a little better in the second half.
Drove past the ground on the way to the pub, there would have been lucky to be more spectators than players during the seniors.
Lauderdale once again ploughed a pathetic Hobart Lions into the ground at Lauderdale by 30-points, but didn't score in the final quarter while Hobart Lions booted 5.2.
Lions flogged the Bombers by over 100-points a few weeks back at the TCA Ground, but Lauderdale were miles too good on this occasion, leading at one stage by over ten goals.
Lauderdale became the second colts side in the Premier League to forfeit this season (Brighton don't have a team).
Strange, considering Lauderdale has so many junior teams.
In the Regional League, Cygnet went two games clear on top thrashing Kermandie by 64-points at Geeveston.
Dodges Ferry won a scrappy game at Pembroke Park by 32-points to stay in second, Huonville Lions had a solid 88-point win over Claremont at Abbotsfield Park and Lindisfarne put paid to Channel's unlikely hopes of finals football with a 1-point win over the Saints at Snug.
In the Old Scholars, former New Norfolk & North Hobart player John "Chook" Fowle booted 11 for the Richmond Lions in thier 185-point caning of struggling Friends' at the TCA Ground.
Former Clarence, Hobart and Glenorchy bigman Matthew Honey produced a sensational display booting 17-goals as DOSA thrashed OHA by 93-points.
And St Virgil's Saints stayed in second with a six goal win over the University Rainbows.
You little Beauty, the Pies are back in town, my Uncle said that there was a reasonable crowd in attendance and that the cheer from the grandstand in the last quarter was the loudest he had heard in years, heaps of people went to the club after the game, but coach Newett reminded everybody including the players that there was a long way to go.
Lauderdale are still a mathematical chance of making the finals but they may have left their run of form a bit to late, but it has been a funny season and anything can happen.

24th July 2005: Shot In The Arm For Magpies. Glenorchy Skins Roos
By James Bresnehen
A Super first quarter and finals-like intensity allowed Glenorchy to drive a stake into the heart of premiership contender Clarence in their Southern Premier League clash at KGV yesterday.
Even though they were worlds apart in terms of performance this season, the Magpies made the Roos look second-class for most of their round 15 face-off.
It was Clarence's second loss in a row to a side below it on the ladder but inside the top five, having gone down to North Hobart last week.
It didn't help that star forward Brad Dutton hobbled from the field with a leg injury halfway through the third quarter.
Glenorchy won by 30 points - 16.14 (110) to 11.14 (80) - but had held a 46-point grip on the match halfway through the final term.
That didn't worry Glenorchy coach David Newett, who was rapt with the workmanship of his lads.
"The first quarter set us up, and even though they challenged us in the second quarter, the boys really stuck at it today," Newett said.
Glenorchy's talented key forward Dean Millhouse was outstanding, creaming six goals from the Clarence defence.
Down back, Glenorchy defenders David Kamaric and Tim Green were rock-solid, and Newett led by example in the middle.
Clarence's best included Sam Fielding, who slotted four goals, and Stuart Beechey for his four-quarter consistency.
The quality win will give the Pies a shot in the arm with the Premier League finals only three rounds away.
"We've been close to a couple of wins when we've stuck to the same process but we didn't get the result we wanted," Newett said.
"Now the boys know the process will get us the result we want."
Glenorchy faces Lauderdale next weekend, followed by increasingly hard encounters with Kingborough and New Norfolk.
"It's a great build-up, and that's the way you want it leading into the finals," Newett said.
The New Norfolk juggernaut rolled to its 15th consecutive win when it crushed Kingborough at Boyer - 26.14 (170) to 9.3 (57).
The Eagles will be tested on the way to the finals with their final three games against North Hobart, Clarence and Glenorchy.
North Hobart buried Brighton 28.25 (193) to 8.5 (53) at North Hobart.
Lauderdale was impressive against Hobart at Lauderdale, winning comfortably 16.8 (104) to 11.8 (74).

24th July 2005: C'mon Coach, That Was Terrific
By Brett Stubbs
There is just no pleasing some coaches.
After watching and being a part of Cygnet's 64-point demolition of previously third-placed Kermandie at Geeveston yesterday, playing-coach Anthony Cole could only look for the areas needed for improvement.
The triple-reigning premiers outscored the Robins in every quarter to win 21.8 (134) to 10.10 (70) and virtually secure top spot with two rounds to play - meaning a week off in the first week of the finals and hosting a semi-final.
But still Cole searches for the perfect game.
"For us to kick 21 goals and them to kick 10 you have got to be reasonably happy," Cole said. "But we can improve.
"Our defence gave us some real drive and we ran the ball out of defence well and we converted well.
"However, I would prefer them to kick no goals but I think that is impossible."
The Port was on song from the opening bounce, banging on seven goalto two in the first term before the rain arrived in the second quarter.
The rain may have limited Cygnet's scoring but it improved its defence with the second half holding only interest to see how much the visitors would run out winners by.
Deep in the Cygnet forward line, Michael Darcy (seven goals) and Daniel Walter (five) combined beautifully, but Cole said their 12 goals was significant for a different reason.
"We must have kicked another nine from our onballers and smaller forwards which is even better," he said.
"Nine times out of 10 other clubs think Michael Darcy is going to kick his 10 but we are actually spreading around a bit now which is good."
Jeremy Brereton was unstoppable on-ball for the Port, along with Robert Stevens in the ruck and Gerard Oakford running out of defence.
There were not too many positives for Kermandie, but it was missing several key players through injury including coach Adam Henley, midfielder Jamie Kaye and full-back Darren Johns.
Huonville replaced Kermandie in third spot with an 88-point smacking of Claremont at Abbotsfield Park.
Matt McCulloch kicked six goals for the Lions in a three-pronged attack which saw Scott Dickson bag four and playing-coach Michael McGregor two.
Dodges Ferry secured second position and continued Sorell's disastrous late season form slump.
The 32-point loss, 11.16 (82) to 7.8 (50), was the Eagles' sixth in the past eight rounds but fortunately they had already secured a finals spot.
Already out of finals contention, Channel's season under new coach Craig Roberts continued to go from bad to worse, with an agonising one-point loss to Lindisfarne at Snug Park, 11.10 (76) to 10.15 (75).
It is a remarkable turnaround by Lindisfarne, which lost to bottom team Claremont the previous round.

23rd July: Claremont Magpies Bask In Glory Of The Past
By Xavier Doherty
Claremont Football Club members were all smiles yesterday as the 1965 team celebrated the 40th anniversary of the club's first premiership.
Gathering at their then home ground, Cadbury Oval, all but five of the victorious team, shared a laugh, a few beers and the odd story of how they remembered that day when they beat University by 27 points.
A few of those memories were captured in a slide show on a huge screen on the wall of the clubrooms.
After joining the Amateurs in 1948, Claremont's first success in 1965 started a premiership rush as the club went on to win another 18 flags at senior level and 16 in the reserves.
Of the Magpies' 54 life members, 24 were involved with the club on the day of their first premiership.
One of those life members is the 1965 coach John Frazer, who clearly remembers a few shortcomings in the club's bid to win the flag.
.................................................http://www.southernfootball.com.au/Claremont_FC_small.jpg...................................... .....
"I remember at the beginning of the season having to ask a few of my mates from other clubs to come down, just to add that extra bit of experience that we needed."
"The grand final turned out to be a beautiful, sunny day at the TCA ground. Everything came together and everyone played their part in the win," Frazer said.
A standout player for the game was Steven Barwick, one of three brothers in the team.
Barwick, captain of the side and a Tasmanian representative, booted three goals in a best-on-ground performance.
Yesterday's reunion was a bright day in what has been a gloomy period for the club.
The Magpies have made just one unsuccessful grand final appearance in the last 10 years and almost went into extinction in March because of a shortage of players.

Hey guys, sorry I haven't posted for a while but I've been away and haven't had too much of a chance to get on line.
Whilst I'm happy to see that Glenorchy came out winners on the weekend, I wouldn't be backing against Clarance just yet as much as I hate them they have been in this position many times before and come back and had the last laugh in the end. Likewise with New Norfolk, they have also been in this position before, but I think this time round they might just loose their current finals chooking reputation.
Should be an interesting finals series though.

Ahhhhh nice to see you back on the boards Doctor :)
I was wondering what'd happened to you.
Just watching WIN news and saw that the 1973-built Cameron Tyson Stand at Aurora Stadium has just been demolished.
Only sat in that stand once (1990 TFL Qualifying Final) but it was always a hotbed of Robin (now Bomber) passion in there.

I think this could open up the Premiership race, I don't think Glenorchy or Kingborough will go far in the finals. Thus I think New Norfolk, Clarence and North will be the ones to lead the charge in the finals. I've been tipping a Clarence/New Norfolk grand final all year, but seeing North up there might just change the outlook.

25th July 2005: Friends' Felled In 185-point Drubbing
Richmond made the most of a hapless display from Friends' in their Old Scholars Football Association match on Saturday.
A six-goal-to-nil first quarter and a 14-goal second quarter set up Richmond's huge score in its demolition of Friends' at the TCA.
Despite trailing by 123 points at half-time, to its credit Friends' toiled away and held Richmond to four goals in the third quarter while scoring its only majors of the game.
But Richmond controlled the final quarter kicking another eight goals and running out 185-point winners, 32.19 (211) to 2.14 (26).
Goals were spread among eleven players with Johns Fowle the standout kicking 11 and Ben Harris four.
Onballers Cameron Johnson, Adam Daft, Josh Woolley and Blayne Bester were best in a team effort for Richmond.
For Friends', Jason Frawley, Tom Murray, Dirk Armstrong and Ben Parremore in defence and Chris Bowles in midfield tried hard all day.
It was a high-scoring affair at Geilston Bay, with DOSA emphatically boosting its percentage with a 29.19 (193) to 15.10 (100) win over OHA.
DOSA held the advantage by 21 points at quarter-time after a bright opening by both teams and although OHA kicked five goals in the second quarter, DOSA added nine and extended its lead to 48 points at half-time.
DOSA continued its dominance in the second half adding 13 goals to six by OHA to win by 93 points.
Matthew Honey was unstoppable up forward for DOSA, finishing with 17 goals and jumping to the top of the Association's leading goalkickers list.
Other stars for DOSA were Kim Harvey with six goals from centre-half forward, and Patrick Carroll, Rodney Callinan and Ben Dance around the ground.
Dan Ryan, Craig Unsworth, Ross Blaikie, Craig Grace, Ashley Banks and Daniel Orr were OHA's best.
St Virgil's remains equal on points with DOSA at the top of the ladder after scoring a 23.8 (146) to 16.14 (110) win over University at New Town.
St Virgil's accuracy was outstanding all game and they proved too slick for University to lead by 51 points at the main break.
University took control in the third quarter but managed only three goals from 11 scoring shots while St Virgil's added five goals to increase its lead to 55 points.
The final quarter saw University do all the attacking and narrow the margin but St Virgil's steadied to take the four points.
Damian Lowe in defence, forward Brad Hastie and Matthew Cracknell were best for St Virgil's while midfielders Cameron Burgess and Nicko Aird across half forward were Uni's best.

25th July 2005: Bothwell Shows Its Class In ODFA Thriller
Bothwell survived its toughest test of the Oatlands District Football Association season as it overcame Mt Pleasant by eight points.
The ladder leader had to battle all day to win what is shaping as a grand final preview.
Scott Brazendale was tremendous, providing plenty of run off half-back flank, while Jarrod Horne was outstanding on a wing.
Elvin Gleeson was a solid defender at full-back, with Gavin Branch also playing excellent out of the centre.
The forward line was again well balanced, with Branch, Phillip Glover and John Ramsay each kicking two goals.
Mt Pleasant defender John Hay played the match of his career to lead his side's best, while Tom Gregg was again the Mounties prime ball winner.
Stephen Hay was a live wire across half-forward, with Aaron Horton and Damien Alexander both giving their all for the full four quarters.
John Rainbird led his side with three goals, while both Darren Kaye and Brendon Rainbird each chipped in with two.
Oatlands recorded a vital, if not totally convincing 40-point victory away to Swansea, with the win moving the Tigers back into second position on percentage.
The match was evenly contested through the opening term before Oatlands used a five-goals-to-one second quarter to establish what would be a winning margin.
The Swansea players continued to battle in the second half, only being outscored by seven points in the last two terms.
Oatlands forwards Brent Cartledge and Mark Kamaric were superb, particularly Cartledge who was outstanding with his skills on a half-forward flank.
Kamaric bagged eight goals to move a step closer to wrapping up the goal kicking award and he was ably supported by Greg Dare who finished with three goals.
Leigh Wilson had a great battle at full-back with Tom Darke, who was Swansea's only multiple goal scorer with five.
Swansea ruck rover Vorne Graham was again outstanding in a losing side, racking up countless possessions.
Shane Cowen, playing in unfamiliar territory on a wing, was a valuable contributor, while Darke and Captain Chris Sing were both extremely important to their side's performance.

27th July 2005: Life Now Sweet For Honey
By David Stockdale
At the end of last footy season Matthew Honey feared his career may have been cut short when he was diagnosed with testicular cancer.
Happily, after an operation last October and a four-month convalescence, Honey has bounced back.
Last Saturday he went on a goalkicking splurge, racking up 17 for DOSA in its 93-point Old Scholars Association demolition of OHA at Geilston Bay.
It broke the club and association record of 16 set by Wayne Olding in 1987.
Honey kicked four goals in the first quarter, three in the second and five in both the third and last.
"Getting through the cancer treatment wasn't easy and I wondered for a while if I'd play footy again,'' the 198cm and 118kg full-forward said yesterday.
"So I'm absolutely delighted to have broken the record.
"I'd been very close to it before with 15.9 a couple of seasons ago as well as hauls of 13, 12 and 11.''
The 32-year-old bakery supervisor now leads the association goalkicking with 62.
But Honey is no one-man band up forward at DOSA.
Three of his team-mates are second, third and fourth in the Old Scholars goalkicking.
They are Kim Harvey (59), who kicked six goals against OHA, Peter Jelkic (54) and Brendan Rogers (46), who kicked three.
Before settling down with DOSA, where he played in successive premiership teams in 1994 and 1995, Honey had moved around.
He had a short spell with Hobart and also played in the ACTFL with Tuggeranong, which lost to Ainslie in the grand final.
Along with his brother Ricky, Honey played for the ACT against a SANFL side which included former Adelaide star Andrew Jarman.

Justin "Banger Harvey plays his 200th game this week for Hobart which is a great effort for the big fella. He is a former senior Best and Fairest of the club, premiership player and was voted into the SFL team of the year in 1999. He also has served as captain of the senior side in 1998 (under Ray O'Rouke) and joint captain with Martin Free from 1999-2002(Under Steve Gilbee), before Jock McGregor in 2003 moved the captaincy off him and the joint Vice Captaincy off his two brothers to Daniel Grey and Brent Dickson respectively. In 2003 he was going through a very rough period on the field due to the new forward setup that Jock wanted to employ (Banger had played at Centre Half Forward but was pushed out to a half forward flank) and was even close to being dropped back to the reserves after starting a number of games on the bench. But in a great effort he resurrected his career as a full back and had an exceptional year in 2004.
Congratulations Banger and at only 27 he may be in line to break D.K. Wilson's club record of 287 games.

Congratulations to Justin Harvey as 200 games is a great personal acheivement.
In 2003 Jock moved him into the ruck late in the season which was a move that brough about a unbeleivable turn around for HOBART as they were dead and buried in saying that made the Grand Final and due to circumstances most blame is pointed toward the disruption the Sorell football club caused in regards to the change of date of the grand final lost (flogged) .
Banga playing at full back i doubt the move in the best interests of Hobart reviewing the results since that short period of success in late 2003 .
And please dont play the young team dvd.
22 go out and play at all ages.

Yes, congratulations to Justin Harvey on his 200th this weekend.
At only 27 years old, if he stays at fit he will more than likely beat Kerry Wilson's club games record of 287 games from 1961-1974 and go on to crack 300.
If I remember correctly his first senior game was up at York Park against South Launceston in the opening round of 1997.
Very well played. Interesting that you mentioned Jock McGregor stripping him of the captaincy, and giving it to Dacsy Gray and the Vice Captaincy to Dickson - very ironic really. Southern Cat mates sticking together.
Great effort there Banger.

To make things more interesting when Jock McGregor told Banger and the other two Harvey's Matthew and Trent about losing their Vice Captancy roles he said that he wanted to have a rotating captancy. Without further knowledge to anybody else at the very next training session he announced that Dac's and Dicko were captain and vice captain.
If it was in the best interests of the side I'm sure that all three Harvey's would have given up their roles willingly anyway. Chilly Free who was also the other capatin at the end of the 2002 season retired for the 2003 season so this matter didn't concern him.
Nice way to start off your stint as coach, by going behind the back of 3 very loyal Hobart players.

How were Sorell responsible for the Grand Final date being changed? Wasn't even aware the date was changed!
Good ol' Jerk McGregor, jawing off as per usual against Claremont last Saturday. He was having a go at a Claremont player for what he thought was a weak effort.
I yelled out to him "Why don't ya F$#K off back to Hobart!
Or Kermandie.
Or Hutchins.
Or Kingston.
Or Wodonga, Vic.
Or Sandy Bay. Oh sorry, they don't exist!"
At least he's got loyalty to the guernsey he's wearing, Jock! Not like you!"
Shames me to say I forgot to give the Southern Cats a run!
Got a funny story from last week in the Claremont v Lindisfarne Reserves game, Damian Godfrey (No 31 for Claremont) made accidental contact with a field umpire. A female boundary umpire (tidy young piece too!) informed him he'd been booked.
The Claremont heirarchy knew nothing of this until a Lindisfarne official handed over the report sheet (close to 5pm in the bar, Good thing we hung around!) to advise that Cameron Parker (No 13) had indeed been booked!
This had the Claremont contingent baffled as they were unaware til then the report had even taken place.
However the funniest part was that the "offender" Godfrey is approx 195cm and 125kg whereas Parker would be 165cm and 60kg tops!
Silly bird had written the number down back the front! When Parker arrived at the Tribunal the looks on the Maggot Fraternity's faces were priceless from all reports!
Onto another matter, would've mentioned this last week 'cept for the fact I wasn't on here last week, had to laugh at Lauderdale's Sam Lonergan being found guilty of striking but was let off for an "outstanding record at junior level!"
Since when does this save a player from a short stint on the sidelines?
Dare I say it, betcha he was let off because he's the golden boy captain of the State Under 18's and was in the mix for the Devils to play Sandringham last week!

Yeah the Bombers must win all three games and Kingbrough lose all three (unlikely considering they play Brighton) thought that the Bombers were one game closer (would have made it a bit more interesting).

Lauderdale have good young players coming through but they aren't going to go anywhere while Scott Allen is coaching them. He hasnt played in about 8 weeks and i hear he is only down there for the money now. Get rid of him and spend the money on two players that will contribute and with the development of the younger players i dont think it will be long before Lauderdale are playing seniors.

Kingborough may lose to Glenorchy, I am not sure their record at KGV Oval, probably about as good as Glenorchy's record down at KBO. I am sure next year maybe we will see Lauderdale attempt to go towards the finals, this year they aren't.
Glenorchy/Kingborough will be the game to watch next weekend, being a finals preview it should show where both clubs are at with their lists.

Gold!! :D Did he have a go back did he?
McGregor is one of the worst serial gob-off merchants I've ever come across, probably not quite as bad as Wayne Lamb though.
I remember some of his more notorious moments when he was at Hobart that left him with egg on his face.
Like the day in 2003 at Bellerive when Hobart were giving the Roos a bath to half time and looked likely to record only about their 3rd win over there since the mid 70's. McGregor gave one of the most fervent (but disrespectful to the opposition) speeches in the rooms that I've ever heard from a Hobart coach.
He was telling how Clarence didn't like it hard and tough, how they were bitching & whinging amongst themselves, how Cooney was an overrated hack who should've retired years ago.
The Roos came out and by the 8 minute mark of the third term had erased the 36-point half time deficit to lead by 8-points.
It eventually cost Hobart the game, that poor period, by 7-points.
LMFAO!! You have to worry about the standard of umpiring when they can't even write down something as simple as two numbers of the back of a football guernsey.
It's a real worry isn't it?
If it had been an SFL goal umpire that had made that blue, I wouldn't have batted an eyelid to be honest, mate. Some of thier score-keeping was abysmal.
I've often wondered how come they were sponsored by EyeBiz or EyeLines or whatever it is, because they obviously don't use the sponsors product a lot of them.
I used to feel sorry for the little kids that used to Boundary Umpire the Colts games, one windy day up at the TCA Ground they had this little fella aged all of about 8 trying to throw the ball in, only to watch the wind pick it up and sail it back over his head.
In the end waterboys were throwing them in on that side, and even I had to hop down off the scoreboard and fire a couple back into play.
THE TEAM THE DECISION MAKERS REALLY CARE ABOUT!
That's exactly what I was thinking when I heard about it.
That would have to be one of the most disgraceful decisions ever handed down by a tribunal in Tasmanian football history - aside from Hobart's Dale Hall getting 8-weeks in 1990 for running into field umpire Gene "Poofter" Phair at Boyer.
That decision is astoundingly arrogant.

They've got some very good young players down at Lauderdale, all they would really need to be successful is a better coach to guide and mould them into good quality senior footballers, two or three more recruits, and some depth obviously.
Thier Reserves and Colts are the chopping blocks of the league this year (along with Brighton) which is disappointing considering that they have been good in the underage in recent years and have a large number of junior teams.
It was noted that Lauderdale couldn't fill in an underage side against the Liarns on Saturday.

Nice way to start off your stint as coach, by going behind the back of 3 very loyal Hobart players.
That sounds pretty typical of things up there for the last few years now. Treat the loyal people with absolute disdain, and treat the newbies or clique groups like Royalty.
Despite what anyone tells you Doc, they are in REAL trouble up at the Lions, mate.
They are starting to realise now just how many people have walked away on them now, and how all these sudden influx of St Virgil's people hasn't eventuated, and are trying to "shame" people in to going back up there.
It isn't going to work though.
They are struggling for helpers, sponsors, money, members (non-playing) and supporters (oh and long sleeved jumpers too, the players had to buy their own) - all of which this Lions thing was supposed to cure.
If compromise, respect, decency and common sense had have been strictly adhered to, it could've all been so very, very different.
Just on that subject of AFL-alignments Doc, did you hear the story some time ago about AFL Tasmania also trying to pigeon-hole Clarence into aligning themselves with either the Swans or North Melbourne?
They would've been required to either change thier jumper or emblem depending on which club they would be forced to align with.
Clarence told them to basically get stuffed, as Clarence Football Club is not allowed to do this under thier legal constitution.
Brighton more than likely will be aligned with Hawthorn in 2006, this will be interesting to see how successful this is (or isn't) because they lost a fair part of thier following when they changed thier name from Mangalore to Brighton in 1995 - Interesting times ahead.
Hobart also cannot do this under thier legal constitution either, that fact was conveniantly forgotten by most people up at the Lions, including President Baker.
Therefore legally speaking, the Hobart Lions as a corporate entity are in fact null & void.
If anyone wanted to challenge the club on that particular fact in a Court of Law, the Hobart Lions would be wound up effective immediately.
The only reason it hasn't been, is the players would all be turfed out on thier backsides without a club to play for.
And those "old Hobart supporters" much criticized by club officials and in the press by the senior coach Ian Wilson (who I have no regard for), are not in the business of turfing players out on thier backsides.
Something Hobart Lions people ought remember next time they bag an old Tiger.
If it wasn't for us old Tigers keeping the place afloat during the dark years, they wouldn't have had a club to turn into the Lions.

Glenorchy v Kingborough at KGV Football Park - Glenorchy by 8 goals.

That's how I see it going. The finals should all be played at North Hobart, at any rate.

26th July 2005: Flower Supports Return To Traditional Guernsey
The President of the North Hobart Football Club (NHFC), Mr John Leedham, announced today that Melbourne Football Club legend Robert Flower is in Hobart as guest speaker at the club’s President’s Dinner to be held this evening at Laetare Gardens.
Mr Leedham said that Flower played a club record of 272 games for Melbourne between 1973 and 1987 kicking 315 goals and won the club’s goal kicking award on 3 occasions. He was captain of Melbourne from 1981 till his retirement in 1987. Flower won the Melbourne best and fairest award in 1977, represented Victoria on 15 occasions including being captain in 1982 and 1983. In addition he was an all Australian in 1980 and 1983.
Robert Flower said he was delighted to be attending the President’s Dinner. He congratulated the club on being the first great Tasmanian club to be inducted into the Tasmanian Football Hall of Fame.
Flower also referred to the history, playing record and tradition of both clubs. The NHFC, formed on the 12 May 1881 are to be congratulated on celebrating their 125th anniversary in 2006. Mr Flower said their success in winning 28 senior premiership and being the pathway for 52 players who have played VFL/AFL football is an outstanding record. The Melbourne Football Club, founded in 1859, has won 13 premierships.
Flower also referred to the ongoing negotiations between the Melbourne Football Club and the North Hobart Football Club in regard to creating an alliance between the clubs. He supported the North Hobart Football Club returning to their traditional navy blue guernsey with the red yoke. He said the guernsey is part of the history and tradition of the club.

It'd make more sense, but I believe if North Hobart finish 2nd they'll get a home final, thus them either playing it on Sunday or playing it at a different ground. I'd assume Glenorchy would get the home final if they finish above Kingston?
I remember back in the day of the TFL where they played the majority of the games at North Hobart, only when a team had a home final it was moved. Oh, and the great Grand Final of 2000, but we must never speak of that blinder again.
If I recall correctly not only did it have a poor attendence (miserable day in Launceston) but it had a poor rating on TV. Though the 2nd part was what I heard somewhere.
That'll teach them, they'll now know Clarence supporters will not travel, hell I could of told them that! :D

Heard a little whisper from a very inside source at the Hobart Lions, that the players had a "crisis meeting" tonight.
Can anyone verify what that was all about?
Doctor '73, have you heard anything?
