With all these trolls all of a sudden is another moderator needed to help DK and Bresh?
How can Jack be allowed to post on this board?

because i do not break rules paralowiepower. Please stop trying to have me banned for no reason. Just cause my opinion doesnt agree with yours doesnt make it bannable. As long as i dont not abuse pp (which you do) and respect the club which i always do, i am here to add my valuable opinion.

Have any of you gone through the proper channels to report oj's posts? That would help the mods as much as getting another mod would do. I'm sure they do what they can, but you can't expect them to read everything on this board in real time.
It would also help if people just ignored the trolls, and especially if people did not quote them in their own posts. Then I, at least, would hardly even notice them, now that I've figured out how to work the ignore list. :D

Again, I have said it in many other threads, If Port was in Adelaide's position this year, you would be the ones coming into the Adelaide Boards. Don't deny it.

After this post you should be booted from Big Footy. Read the rules about attempting to use correct English (punctuation and grammar) and not text message (type) crap.
This is the Port board. We are allowed to stop whomever we like from posting here. These boards are an entity of their own when it comes to bannings.

It wouldn't occur to me to try anything on any other board except the odd query or congratulations. Our board is for us, theirs are for them. I don't know why the mods haven't acted, but I have acted, and so can you. Just put them on ignore or at least don't respond to them. They'll be gone in a day, guaranteed. We don't need Big Brother to sort this out, we can do it ourselves.
I don't mean to sound sanctimonious here (which I'm capable of doing so well, I know :o ), but really, we can fix it immediately all by ourselves.

jack is a friend to all, this is an overreaction. Many ppl were on the crows board and not banned at the start of the yr. It goes both ways. When the crows struggle ppl like captain have made some little appearances.

i think jack has improved alot recently, and he is not blindly putting down port and it's players coaches etc. he is making some valid points now
He is not one of those bandwagoners who jump on and kick port when they are down. He was trying to kick port when they were up the top too :p
He has mellowed his sole focus of bagging port, and now i have time to read his posts

We cop it on the field, and we cop it here. We give it on the field, and we give it (in spades :) )here. Part of the "fun".
Anyone that gets abusive gets suspended from here as always has been the case, if they are just ********stirring a bit then so be it. Some do it better than others, but it's all part of package.
So the answer to the question IMO is no. No we do not need any more mods they are doing a great job IMO.

Most of you Port fans are completely senstive aren't you. You guys were doing the exact same thing last year by 'kicking us when we were down' and you would be doing exactly the same if you were in our position and we were in yours this year. So seriously think back to when you have kicked the Crows fans or any other fans for that matter when they were down and just think that it has come back to bite you on the arse. What goes around comes around Port fans.

I guess my overriding policy is that personal abuse gets taken down, but users should use their own personal discretion about dealing with 'trolls'. If you don't like it, don't read it or respond to it. These people get off on getting people all flustered, don't give them what they want.
In addition to that, I wanted to build this forum into a place where all supporters can come in for a bit of a discussion, and at times that will delve into a bit of ******** stirring, but its not as if the whole board capitulated between yesterday and now. If you look at the board now, everything is back to normal. No point making a few kneejerk decisions after a bad loss merely to wield my monstrous internet message board power...
So, I guess my point is, if you don't like what someone has said, take a step back and just let it go through to the keeper. If you don't believe it to be truthful, there is nothing worse than perpetuating it with replies. Just leave them alone, and they will soon leave the board. The last thing I wanted to do when taking over as mod here was ban people left, right and centre because we were a bit too precious. Instead of making a fool of ourselves taking the bait, just let it go...

Thats the point though, why should we need to skip over ones posts, if a poster continues to write crap just get rid of them.
Our team has been unacceptable this year and sure we should cop some criticism for it but there are a minority of posters out there who just lay it on a bit too thick.
Its not as if we are oblivious to the problems, its a daily discussion amongst us all. Posters like OJ just need to be put in their place as quite often threads of discussion go off in different tangents, we don't need this, this can be found on the main board if we really want it.
Its disappointing that a minority ruin it for the majority and the minority (who might I add aren't port supporters) seem to have some greater power when the majority want them rid from our board.

Thats cool, but what you're saying is that there's no point coming to the board after a loss, because it'll be full of trolling. Don't we want this board to be somewhere to discuss the game shortly after the game?

If there thoughts are regards The Port Adelaide Football Club and its players it has a place here. People may not like what is being written about there club or players but at the moment we have no choice but to take it on the chin. Our performace is not up to scratch.

For me it was the fact that he is a distracting influence. In the end, it is actually a fault of some of the posters on this site (albeit an understandable fault) in that they can't just ignore him. That means that topics go on for pages of abuse directed at Jack and miss the entire point of the thread. It is like the obsession that the Crows board had with Powerkop at one stage.
In the end, we are better without him (jack not Powerkop).

Ditto. All the "static" that these type of posters generate on the site detracts from the experience IMO.
I'm with Voltaire on freedom of speech, but when posters highjack threads I simply have to leave the site 'cos I don't have the time nor inclination to sift through all the bickering.

He wasn't here to kick us when we're down, to be fair. He's always tried to start arguments and will say whatever it takes. He freely admits that he doesn't mean a lot of what he says and annoys a lot of people on the Crows board as well. He was banned from there at one point.
I think it was a good decision to get rid of him. Go and suck eggs outback hack!

That's basically as I see it as well as long as it doesn't get personal, abusive or go completely off topic.
As others have stated we do rely on people reporting posts so if you have a problem one don't reply to the message which just encourages them to post again - report it and we will deal with it.
