Didnt realise this but Australia A is touring Pakistan in September to play a couple of 4 day matches and 3 one dayers, I assume against Pakistan not Pakistan A, not sure as the article was about security checks and not the actual tour
What do people think the squad will be? I assume it will be during the World XI series so they will likely want to keep a couple of fringe players in Aus as backup. Would be funny if you are playing a home series and the replacement you want is on tour

Hussey would have to be looking at a Test spot...

the fringe players will stay, as we have been going Young/Youth over the last few years with the Aussie A team, so for me i cant see it being an issue should we need to call anyone up.
This is very good news...Pakistan are very up and down, but the conditions are what we need to get some of the younger guys going. With the World XI stuff...why do you need a lot of backups...3 one day matches and the test....and with the test at the SCG, you'd definitely want Magill and warne...who aren't likely to figure in the one day stuff...well, maybe Warnie will come out of retirement for this one....
Gonna have to have a think on the squad...but we need to send younger guys....sorry, eddie- no Hodgey for this tour...though you'll want him in the test anyway....whioch could happen

So it would probably be guys like White, D.Hussey, Cullen etc
Wonder if Haddin will go?

Yeah good point, the call on which keeper/Haddin will be interesting.

I think there'll definately be a youth focus. Maybe a couple of senior blokes in the mix for mentoring. No Hodge, Hussey or Haddin I think.
Batsmen/Spinners
Rogers
Jacques
North
Watson
D. Hussey
White
Ronchi/Croswaithe/Hartley
Cullen/Casson/Doherty
The quicks are far harder to pick
Lewis
Dorey
Tait
Rofe
Wright
Griffith
Hopes
Alternatively they could just go for these blokes;
Rogers
Hussey
Goodwin
North
Voges
Campbell
Casson
Inness
Dorey
Edmonson
Williams
12th - Magoffin

Is this a similar tour to the Australia A tour of South Africa a few years ago ?
