I'm in the middle of preparing a ruleset for a fantasy cricket Web site as a follow-on from FanFooty, called (unsurprisingly!) FanCricket. It would not be like the BFFC league, this would be using real cricket players like the AFL Dream Team. What I would like to hear from you lot is whether you have tried similar fantasy cricket games in the past, and what you would like to see in a new one?
There are a few rules set in stone for FanCricket:
- teams are to be of 11 players, with possibly a "bench" and probably a "supersub";
- scores have to be reflective of the scoring in cricket, i.e. runs and wickets, not just abstract points;
- although I would have liked to do a full league format where every team in a league is different, unfortunately with the small number of players on offer that is impossible, so it will have to be a "salary cap" comp like the Dream Team.
Apart from that, I'm open to suggestion. Fire away, please!
