Oh how stupid are Carlton!!! WHY WOULD THEY WANT GALLAGHER!!!!!! Well at least he is out of the state!!!

this would go down as one of the biggest nothing trades ever - its in the same league as Downsborough for Chalmers, Niash for Rombotis, and Gibson for Sharkey

Fair enough...but why would Adelaide want Nelson?

Agreed it's a complete nothing trade.

It could be a nothing trade, all 4 could have no impact but I think both Eccles and Massie could play roles for their respective clubs next year.

Eccles seems to be rated highly by some people in Melbourne and I think given an injury free pre-season could very well find a place in Carlton's side on a wing.

Massie, if he recovers okay from his broken leg, has looked a reasonable player and is still quite young, I can see him slotting somewhere in our backline, especially as Bickley and Smart fade off into the sunset. So this trade could be fruitful or a waste of time, we'll have to wait and see.

Fat Red, you've probably seen Gallagher play a few times but from someone who's seen him regularly, his level of incompetance is astounding. I've seen a bit of Nelson and he hasn't looked a great player, far from it, but he couldn't be any worse than Gallagher. I doubt either will have any impact their new clubs. :)

Eccles at his best is a good player - he was in the Victorian state squad in 1999 till he hurt his knee against Richmond.

I think Massie could go OK for us. The times I've seen him he looked like he could turn into a decent player.

I think Eccles is the best player in this foursome, when he is fit! Gallagher is the worst! I think that if all players play up to their best, then Adelaide have done marginally better than Carlton out of this trade, but then again, none of the four players may play senior footy next year. I'll be interested to see how Gallagher goes next year for Carlton.

I think Gallagher may actually improve at Carlton  That's if he manages to get a game :p

I think I may agree with you there!

If Gallacher can pin point his teammates, as much as he pinpoints Opposition, he could be in for an All Australian year :D :D

Agree with you on this one.
Also think that yes it is not impossible for Gallagher to improve next year with Carlton (could he get worse!:D :D
