i can't think of many better series than this one, there are very few that comee to mind. Certainly the best series of the last decade however where would you rank it over the last 100 years even tho it is only 3 games in?

India 2001 will be hard to beat, but I think this may prove to be better, especially if England win.

The 2001 2nd Test in India was still the most dramatic of turn-arounds I've ever seen and the 3rd Test was amazing as well, but if the 4th and 5th Test turns to be something special, then it would surely surpass it
This has to be the best Ashes battle for donkey years, can't remember the last one that has been this closely contested

I've been watching cricket for over 25 years. Two series stick out in my mind as shoulders above the rest:
Aust v India 2001
Ashes 2005.
Both series I've nearly watched every ball. Cricket just doesn't get any better.
by far the best series is the one in India and for something to get close to being as could as that theyu would have to do something unbelievable!
this is the best ashes for ages , as it is the only one that the english are actually contending for a win for like 20 years! but if the results continue to be as close as they are then maybe it could push the indian series :rolleyes:

India was great as Australia lost, depends on the result of the series before I decide where it ranks ;) :p
