If Taity is any chance to play, my man's gotta bowl the lights out v Scottland and Nottinghamshire.

The Scotland games today.

And If the Cradster's article (niece piece BTW) is anything to go by it could be a bowl off between Kasper and Taity in the 1 and 4 day matches coming up to see who takes Dizzy's slot.

Hodgey will probably get a gig, Haddin and co. will also probably play.

Should be a close one ;)

Don't think this hit and giggle one dayer against the Scots will count for much. Also the game against Nots is only a 2 dayer. Extremely poor planning by CA, hows Hodge, Tait etc meant to find form in games like these. Still Taity will clean up and book a place in the fourth test.

Partly CA's fault, partly ECB, they both have to organize the games, but both matches should be 3-dayers.

At least its a match people.

Hopefully Taity gets the new ball and goes horse with Kasper.

True.

However, genuine match practice is what's required prior to a test, the game against Scotland have been played as part of the one-day tour matches during the Natwest Series lead up games.

Why on earth are they playing a one-dayer in the middle of the test leg of the tour ?

I doubt it.

Without checking I'd say it would get underway around 7 like the test matches.

Here is the link to BBC Radio Scotland coverage of the game

They haven't let rain stop them too much in the past in these matches. I recall this fixture two series ago with mcGrath standing in the deep somewhere with a spectator next to him holding a brolly over his head for a few overs. McGrath had a big grin while his team mates were getting damp. Complete joke of a match.

I can't wait until the Ashes are back in Australia in 2 years time because then we won't see rain delays when watching the cricket in summer.

Ever been to Brisbane? It can bucket down there...

Team news is that McGrath, Warne, Hayden and Gilly are being rested...

Yeah but it doesn't rain at every venue.

Why would they rest Hayden?

How can Scotland even have a team, when the English team is drawn from the United Kingdom?

Thats a top question, but the might have learnt from the G.Jones and now only select from England.

It is- also just heard that they may go beyond the 6 PM close of play time to give a good chance. No word on overs yet....skies are clearing, apparently.

Dizzy hoping to bowl himself into form

What is the point of this game, exactly? Seems like a total waste of time.

Probably a good thing it's raining for once ;)

Match has been abandonned- sky was clearing and they were getting set to play- then the rain came down again....

Probably for the best, too. Hope they get some decent batting practice in against Notts, whenever that game is.

Well. This thread went off! Pretty pointless playing a pointless ODI in the middle of test series anyway

ben.carbonaro

It actually wasn't an ODI.

It's was a List A match. :D
