this is not whether you think tait should be included, but rather do you think the selectors will include tait rather than kasper for the 4th test at trent bridge? not do you think he should be, but do you think they will

Yes, time for some youth.

my gut feeling is they will go with Kasper. Its hard to say without watching that tour game

After reading the reports of the tour match it sounded like Tait had a good game and could be the leading candidate but I dont think he will be.
I am so disillusioned with the selectors, they have no balls and IMO are arrogant and if we lose this series it will be down to them, not just on this tour but for the gradual decline, they have not reacted at all.

I have to agree. While it has been hard to judge our current standing as we've been winning all the recent series, it has to be said we have been using a lot of "Get out of jail for free" cards lately (thinking of the ODI's against the Kiwis for example).
We have not been as dominate as in recent years, even though it was less than 12 months ago that we beat India in India - one of the last jewels.
I don't think they'll pick Tait. I'd like them to, but I think they'll go for Kaspa has he's got experience and did a decent job in the 2nd test. If he had a shocker then, and didn't do well in the tour match while Tait did, then maybe, just maybe, they'd pick him. But Tait hasn't got the experience required for this test. If we win the 4th test then they might bring him in for the 5th test (now that would ideal, really) but I can't see the selectors picking him for Thursdays game.
BTW, don't be surprised for an interrupted days play on the first day. I'll post a link to the BBC when the match thread starts up.

Unfortunately I am not feeling lucky, so they probably wont

If they are refusing to change the batting, which desparately needs a shake, they won't go beyond bringing back Kasper for Dizzy. As big a Kasper fan as I am- and I will celebrate when he helps the aussies to victory at Trent Bridge- it is time for younger blood in the side.

Tait should play, but the selectors will go for Kaspa cos he's the safe option.

I wouldn't mind some more youth in the side. It would improve our fielding at the very least.
Tait for Dizzy and Watson for Katich?

The dont have the balls to - they will go safte like always
Mixed emotions - they should...ever logic tells me so but part of me doesnt mind Kasper playing cause I feel Dizzie will have a better chance of getting back in the side if kasper's there instead of tait - there is a better agrument to keep tait than kasper!
It will be of little confort to me if Taity replaces Dizzie - I like tait dont get me wrong but still...its not Diz :(

Justin Langer told the media last night he does not want the selector’s interfering with team balance. That sounds a little arrogant, I don’t mind him having opinion but telling the media in a not too subtle way not to play Tait is a little worrying.
I Think Kaspers eight no balls may have the selectors a little worried that he has not sorted his run up problems from earlier in the tour and I say the selectors will play Tait, maybe to show JL who picks the team.

oh well you will have your diz back playing for the redbacks this year becuase he is gone and hopefully never to come back, hes body has had it, and he's too old its time to bring in the young guys

Your right we do need some young guys but what are the selectors going to do in their wisdom.
Drop a bloke who is getting a bit old (not overly) and replace him with an even older guy who, at best is just an honest bowler who will never rip through an attack.
Its a joke.

Kaspa will be picked, but IMO I hope Tait plays and tears England apart.
If Tait doesn't get picked I'm going for the Poms, even more so than I am now. Why?
Why does the decision of the selectors influence who you follow?
To the question at hand, while I would like to see Tait get a game, I really think the selectors will play safe and choose Kaspa as the work horse.
I think Kaspa gives them 3 very different quicks whereby Tait may be seen as a Lee clone.

Called state loyalties.
And being disilusioned by the selectors incompetence and communist values.

I think Kasper's great and all but i do hope they pick Tait. Bleed some youth into the team and it will be a great learning curve for him.
If he does what i hope he does then the timeline will look like this:
1993: Warne
1997: McGrath
2001: Gillespie
2005: Tait
I hope they pick Tait, but I have a strong feeling they will stick with Kaspa.
