Can anybody shed any light on the brawl that occurred in yesterday's first semi-final between Sth Morang and Diamond Creek at Lalor?
If so, in which quarter did it happen? Did it involve members of the crowd, as SEN reported. Were police injured and was capsicum spray used?
Any insight on this matter would be appreciated.

Was at the game, from my point of view this is basically what happened. There was a group of Sth Morang supporters in the forward pocket at the right end of the ground. They were basically giving it to the Creek players as you would expect, with particular attention given to one. He responded in kind after kicking a goal at that end of the ground in the 3rd qtr. It just so happened that when the final siren went the ball was in that particular pocket with the afore mentioned player at the contest. After the siren words were exchanged and the South Morang supporters jumped the fence and started laying into the Creek player. His teammates ran in, the Creek bench was 50 metres away so that cleared and soon players, coaches, officials and spectators from both sides were involved and it was on for young and old. Police stood at the left end of the ground and basically let the fight clear itself. Not much 4 uniforms could do when faced with hundreds of people on the field. By the time backup arrived the fight had cleared and Creek were singing the theme song in rooms :D

I can confirm that the above is mostly correct. However the ball wasn’t in the pocket when the final siren sounded. A Sth Morang player had wrestled his opponent over the boundary line and against the fence in front of the group of Sth Morang supports (as if on purpose) just as the siren sounded. As soon as it did the Sth Morang supporters jumped the fence and attacked D/Creek players. The particular group of supports where quite happy with themselves at half time of the game with there team 6 goals up. After an afternoon in the early spring sun and a gut full of cheap bourbon, there team where overun and they couldn’t control themselves and reverted to there IQ. This isn’t the first time they have done this at a D/Creek game.

Did anything else happen at any other DVFL Finals ?, apart from Bundoora winning against Monty and the Borough narrowly defeating Mernda ?.
Or was it only at the Diamond Creek vs South Morang match (At Lalor ?, why is that a finals ground when they could play at Heidelberg) where things erupted ?.

The DV dont use Heidelberg for finals anymore as the ground is also a so called public reserve with a walking track around the oval. The league cant offically charge people to get into the ground during finals as they can claim they are walking there dog along the track. After people complaining to the council the league moved finals from Heidelbery to Noth Heidelberg and now Lalor. The old guys on the gates are now a lot happier as now everone has to pay and they get there cash in there pocket in a one for me one for the league job for the mates system.

I watched the game from out front of the clubrooms, but was heading towards the Creek interchange when the siren went and the fight began. Went out on the ground to shake a few hands and get a closer look at the action.

When Desy spent four years and Ritchie 2 at Leopold...Dessy was in the VCFL training squad in 1998 or 1999...one of the toughest players I've seen, pound for pound...while Adam was pretty hard at it oo,

Gee he'd be 34 now. I'm guessing...retirement beckons...
Would have hurt him for the Borough to play Divvy 2...but he's helped get them back to where they belong...

Flat track, I think Leopolds greatest loss was you, they miss your thumping left foot kicks and high marks in front of goal. But then leopolds loss was Tamworths gain as you dominated the local league and ruled the air waves. Are you playing where ever you are?
