Record crowds attend the Ovens and Murray finals for 2nd week running.
the 1st round of finals last week drew a record finals round total for Elim and Qual finals.

Last weekends Semi finals also drew record aggregate plus records for both games.

The O&M have been providing official attendances for the last 3 years, maybe longer

The crowds at the OM finals have been fantastic this season.
A combination of a very even season and a wide open premiership race, smart scheduling of finals matches and some fantastic spring weather.
But, we've also got to be mindful of the fact the OM increased the adult admission price by $2 for finals matches this year which is contributing to the record gates.
It costs $14 to go to an OM final and there has been some negative feedback from punters saying this is too steep.
The OM will argue the admission includes the cost of the match-day publication "The Critic".
But, a lot of people go both days (Saturday-Sunday) and "The Critic" doesn't alter one iota and people hang onto theirs from the first day and get slugged an extra $2 on the second for the privilege of saying "no thanks".
In a major embarrassment, The Critic didn't have numbers for the Wangaratta senior side for the qualifying final.
Only a small issue I know.

I also agree something has to be done for supporters that have teams playing in both days of finals ie EF/QF and Semi's. Either schedule similar teams on the same day even though they maybe playing a different final. The clubs would argue 'not enough time to re-cooperate for the next round'.

Or offer the public a reduced price weekend pass that can be purchased on the saturday game or at a ticket venue beforehand.

I know the RFL and Farrer leagues offer a family pass $20 to cover 2 adults and 2 kids or any other configuration of 4. This price is set for all finals which is a bargain for the GF.

Normal admission last year was RFL Finals
Minor Finals: Adults $8 Concession $3 Children 12-16 $2 (Family 4 $20)
Grandfinals : Adults $9 Concession $4 Children 12-16 $2 (Family 4 $20)
and Farrer all finals
Adults $8 Concession $3 Children 12-16 $2.

The record costs $2 which is not included in Gate takings advised to press.
