View Full Version : What will it take to get Pick 10

We can still get a pick in the top 10. Pick 10, belonging to Fremantle is the easiest one to get.
i think, given their history for stupid trades, that we could get pick 10 in a straight swap for Koops. However, i know some of you think it might take more than this. At the weekend I was cleaning out a wardrobe and came across my old Starsky jacket. I can't remember the real name but those of you who were around at the time of the TV show will remember that these woolen things from Peru were the height of fashion at the time with their earth tones and thick wool fibre.
so here is what I propose : Koops and my starsky jacket to Freo, in exchange for pick ten to the dogs.
what do you have to offer to get the deal done?

The only stupidity involving us and Freo has been by us for trading pick 19 to Freo for Koops in the first place. Just as well that Rohde and Newport didn't rate that young Mundy chap (bet you they didn't even know who he was).
Seriously, what's the point of trading up 1 place in the draft. We have pick 11 and I seriously doubt our ability to trade up any higher. The first 6 picks will be off limits, Essendon never trade away early picks, doubt that Richmond or Brisbane will this year either, so pick 11 it is. Actually we look like the only club likely to trade away a high pick this year.
I'll give you $2 for your jacket.

It might fit Chris Connolly, just. Not sure about you though!

Good thinking, Mr Walker, but you lack ambition.
I think that a combination of your jacket, Koops and my prized 1960s set of "The Samurai" bubble gum cards could lure Sheedy into parting with Pick #7.
I'm sure sheedy was a fan of Tombei the Mist.

I hate you!
I had all of that set but one. I even wrote to the bubble gum company asking for the missing card. They turned me down and told me not to bother them again for some reason

Thats hardly ambitious.
If we use Mr Walkers Jacket, Koops, Rots prized 1960s set of "The Samurai" bubble gum cards, plus my limited edition Ricky Grace baskeball card, Im sure we will be able to snag the number 1 pick off Carlton.
Dennis loves Grace.

Mohair Mr Walker.
Think I still have one myself !
You can have it if you need to sweeten the offer.

Maybe you'll hate me more - I have been to Iga - home of the Iga Nijas and Tombei the Mist.
Tombei wasn't in at the time.
Yeah, sure trade with any of the three Priority pick clubs.
They'll want blood and your first child as compensation.
As for trading with Sheedy The Genius for pick 7, you know he'd take Cooney and Griffen for pick 7 and Aaron Henneman ("what? he's a tall defender")
That leaves 8-10.
8. Richmond might, given they picked up 55 kids in the first 56 picks last year, but who wants to go play for Terry Wallet?
Half the blokes in the comp whose name is Nathan Brown. But no-one else.
9. Brisbane, haven't had an early draft pick since Des Headland. And he went home for Caracella, and he left for free. They won't be trading.
10 Freo. New regime there now. None of this trade Phil Matera for Hynes, trade Andrew McLeod for Chris Groom any more.
They haven't made a dud trade for a whole season now. So I can't see them trading a good pick for a bloke who can't play.
Let's face it, they'd probably only look at a Westralians, and that means taking Bandy back, Hargrave, Ray or Skipper.
None of those are going for pick 10.
So it won't happen.

The sky's the limit. Maybe a 4 way trade that will see us get picks 1. 2 and 3?
