I love this guy with a passion. I find myself just repeating everything he says. It's the `way' he says things which is so entertaining.
I think his best call of the tour thus far was when Mark Nicholas suggested, "Warne certainly seems full of beans..." Richie replied, "He may well be?"

Are you for real? Richie is to cricket what Anabel Chong is to the sex industry.

Because he is the worst commentator ever and is ********ing annoying, listening to him on CH9 is bad enough, but now I have a choice, I dont have to listen to him all year round

Funny, you praise Richie and complain about other commentators being biased

I can just imagine if MacGill doesnt play Richie will spend the entire English innings talking of how good Stuey is and how he should be out there and how England would be struggling if he was

I have said this before.............

I cannot imagine summer in Australia with out Richie's mug on the box. His wit & knowledge is second to none.

Such is him warm, grandfatherly like demeanor, i would not feel uncomfortable giving the man a big hug in the street.

How will i describe him to my children ??? It will be hard.
He really is the King.

I'm surprised that people still responds to what eddiesmith says

He makes a retard look exceptionally intelligent

And frankly, if you argue with idiots, you become an idiot, and they'd beat you on experience

Ritchie Benaud = champion.

Both as bowler, and commentator.

During the last Test there was a group of blokes wearing stripey 'convict' clothes with big blown up Richie Benaud masks on.

One of the commentators says something to Richie about it & he replies

'I don't mind the bit on top, but it's the garb below I'm not too keen on'

Pause

'The Benauds came over from France actually'

The way he said it all of us watching just burst out laughing, he has a certain style, laconic is the word.

It's just the way he says stuff. I could listen to him all day.

Another ripper many years ago was when Greg Ritchie was doing his `Mahatmacoat' character. He had hopped into an army tank which was driving away from the camera. On the back of the tank was a sticker which read, "Wide Load". Richie then commented, "Wide Load? How appropriate."
I laughed that much I was boiling my eyes out.

I think what Richie actually said "Depends what was on the menu"

Funny eitherway and he certainly is one of the few good commentaters on 9

ch4 have a much better commentary team than sky.

bob willis sounds like a funeral director and i dont have much time for beefy.

my favs on ch4 are boiks and nicholas and the analyst.

watching the telecast shows just how crappy ch9 has been over the years especially with tony greig's cricket memorabillia fire sales and tubby taylor struggling to spit a sentence out and chapelli's droning style.

He's the voice of cricket.

You turn on Ch9 in summer and you hear him and he's a welcomed voice.
