Out of the players that are rumoured to be leaving their current clubs.... are any worth chasing? Whitnall and Salopek are names that are constantly mentioned in the media but I'm sure there are more.
not salopek.........we have been linked to havng alot of salary cap space to entice any stars we dont want to end up like carlton with a bunch of dud recycled players
we shouldnt trade just for the act of trading players we need to really make sure the player is young and a benefit to our future
It was mentioned somewhere that AC would look at young players from other clubs that weren't getting playing time. Clubs like PA and Geelong and WC may have kids not getting the opportunities that they could at Hawthorn.
Not a name player, more the likes of a player drafted in the last 2-3 years.
If we're looking to pick up anyone, it SHOULDN'T be via the November draft. I remember years ago when we were picking up guys like Nixon and Baxter before the November draft and trading away picks for them thinking, cool these guys will fit right into our starting 20 (21,22). Then come draft day, I'd be fuming because we had so few decent picks. I'd rather not trade AT ALL before November. FULL STOP. PERIOD. If we need a ruckman to replace Spider, then draft a young ruckman. We have just finished the 1st year of our complete restructure. There's a reason Graham was delisted at the start of the year. There's also a reason Dutchy couldn't get a gig all year. If we want anyone over the age of 24, do it pre-season, not post-season.
