It has happened. Stephen Silvagni has retired. He intended to go on next year but medical advise has forced him to give the game away.

Thanks for the memories SOS. We'll miss you.

All the best SOS,you are a true legend.Good to see he will be kept around the club as a coach.Also i heard channel 10 have signed him up.Who will ever forget his screamer against Collingwood?Or his last ditch efforts to spoil a mark.Well he is the AFL full back of the century.

I think his 95 final series was the best. He deserved to be called fullback of the century and any one who disagrees with me are in denial.

Well done SOS on a fantastic career! You were one of my favourite Carlton players, and we will surely miss your presence down back. May your retirement be a happy one. You're a bloody champion SOS... a bloody champion... I salute you! :)

Favourite player since................. well, ages!
I'm glad he is staying at the club at least, in a coaching position.
