I was born with different coloured eyes. Guess which colours? Have attended all nine premierships as well as the pre-season ones.
After 1991 I felt that the Hawks had attained so much glory in our history that it woud be suffice to do me for the rest of my life. Not so! I'm hungry for more.
All I can say, Mighting Fighting and GH, hang in there, be patient we are on our way back even though it may well be 4 - 5 years down the track. But how sweeter it will be after not having had a sniff for 20 years.

If teams such as Melbourne and Kangaroos can make the top 8 then surely we aren't that far off the mark.
the 07 season we should make the finals
the 07 season we should make the finalsI'm going to be shot down in flames, but I really believe if we don't have injuries we can make the 8 next year. We need a great injury free run and some big improvement in output from Lewis, Roughie, Taylor and Buddy. Add in further improvement from the likes of Sewell, Brennan, Thurgood, Ladson and the lads who have played just a handfull of games, Boyle, Murphy, Young, Miller, Pick 3, Pick 6 + maybe PSD etc and we're on the way to pushing for top 8.
Even with signficant injuries we could have easily won 8 games this season. Games like Carlton, Richmond(twice) and Essendon will be definite wins next year I reckon.

No saaam, mate, I'm for one who is NOT going to shoot you down in flames. If we don't have expectations from our up-and-comers and faith in our club .... what have we got? What I've seen of this weekend's 5 - 8 team possies performances: e.g; Melbourne & North, comparing that standard we can with a great amount of enthusianism have expectations of making season 2006 as one of getting into the finals.
In saying that, one would expect to be shot down in flames by supposed supporters with negative comment who lack enthusianism. If we don't have such may as well give the game away, I say. And we wouldn't like the players on the list to have the same negative attitude ... would we?

Problem is Kangas and Dees are way off the mark
I dont want to make it, for the sake of being there.
I wanna be a contender

Finals football is still a fair way off. Id say realistically, maybe 2007 - 2008. Remember we still have a fair bit of "dead wood" floating around and a large group of young, inexperienced players.

Thats exactly what i think as well, if we are ging to make the finals, i want to see us win games and have a realistic chance of making a grand final.
Were gunna have to trade some established players to get the players we need to win a flag.
